it’s almost 5 am. i should have been in bed hours ago. what did i do with the time? reading about anthology, making a playlist of all the anthology songs recorded before “Please Please Me ” and never put on an album, then i was thinking to myself “i need to figure out how to widdle these down and then order them in something sonically pleasing”, and then i realized there’s exactly 14 of them i don’t have to widdle them down at all. i realize how late it is and that i need to go to bed.

and then i go back to the thought that there’s exactly 14 of them. someone official already widdled these down, i know for a fact that there’s more songs recorded with tony sheridan and more recorded for decca. so, why these ones specifically? and then i get to the crazy theorizing of what if someone was planning on releasing these recordings in this order as an album before anthology was being planned and that project got pushed out of the way for anthology. so i decided the rational thing to do was to mock up a cover for the spotify playlist.

it’s 5am, i’m crazy and i should go to bed.. but i’m tempted to go to Anthology 3 and make another playlist from it of the Abbey Road songs and some of the unreleased songs and call it  “anthology road.” this is ridiculous. i should go to bed.

There are rabbits and ducks that live outside my building, I have to restrain myself from cooing “bunny” with my arms outstretched like an overlarge baby (especially if there’s other people around).

You must have a lot of willpower, I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a bunny without doing that. And I have a bunny.

Fun lil fact as far as I know France is the only European country to dub the musical episode of Buffy. Every other country it aired in just subtitled the songs- the French stopping the French people from learning English since 700AD.

French Buffy is the voice actor for Ariel in La Petite Sirène.

Father’s Day is on Sunday (I think) and my mom just proposed that, as a gift, we get my dad concert tickets to see either Ringo, Jeff Lynne and Dhani Harrison, or Paul and, wait for it, have him go with me. That is what she said. Sounds more like a Fiddy’s Day gift than a Father’s Day gift but it would be THE most amazing thing ever and I am freaking out and AHHHHHHHHH that’s all please carry on with your day.

On a similar (but not quite as exciting) note, my brother just got a gift card for the record store for his birthday. (We don’t even have a record player, despite the fact that both of my parents have one sitting at their respective parents’ houses, but apparently it’s “too expensive” to have them shipped across the country). I’ve gone to said record store and drooled over the records many times, and come very, very close to buying one, but I always end up buy things I can actually play (aka CDs) thinking I’ll buy records when I finally have a way to play them (because they’re so darn expensive! I know, inflation and supply and demand and blah blah, but why can’t they still be $7.99?)

Anyway, I’m veeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyy exited (as you can see)  and I’m going to try to convince him to get either Revolver , Rubber Soul or Abbey Road (because I think they would be really cool records) but it probably won’t work because he’s very set on Magical Mystery Tour (not that I’m complaining at all!!) because it’s his favorite and he’s hoping we can find the edition with the booklet in it.

See, this is why it’s a good idea to convince your family of your interests!

I've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

@StrawberryFields91, I acquired several records before I got a hold of my uncle’s old record player. I just stuck them on the wall so I could gaze longingly at the covers and dream of playing them. a-hard-days-night-john-6 (Of course, none of them were records that contained anything I didn’t already have, more or less — some compilations and US Beatles albums.)

Anyway, today I got to take a drug-induced trip through the swirling corridors of the Sea of Nowhere Dreamland, which was very interesting and not at all like getting my teeth sawed up and extricated from within the back of my mouth, so that was nice. a-hard-days-night-john-6a-hard-days-night-george-4blue-meanie
