^English is the most lax language out of any of the ones I know when it comes to grammar. You can get away with a lot in it that you wouldn't be able to in Irish for example where something is what it is, and you can't change it.

A linguist once told me that is the reason why English is the hardest language to learn for those who live in non-English speaking countries. I don't know if that is true, but it makes sense.

Hope the new meds work well for you, @Ron Nasty.

Interesting that Outlook did that.* I wonder if @Martha's teacher grading her English exams would concur. I've grown up and lived around people who used the (formerly?) proper *I* in those situations. It is the only way that sounds right/educated to my ears. Maybe I sound uneducated to those who use *me* in those situations. a-hard-days-night-paul-10

I hope your fit and lively again very soon Ron Nasty!

Thank you so much @Ahhh Girl!  I've never been aware of any rules regarding the usage of 'I' and 'me', instead, I've always inserted them depending on what I felt sounded right but now that you mentioned it I looked up the rules and it turned out one uses 'I' only as a subject and 'me' only as an object, so the sentence I had originally written was really wrong, whereas 'my friend and me' could be right when it is an object (like in 'The teacher looked at my friend and me'). That's such a simple rule, I think it could have saved me from many mistakes if I had known it before but only from your post, AG, I even learned there exists a general rule. Thanks a lot for that, it feels so great to understand your miraculous language a little bit better! apple01apple01

It's quite ironic though, that Paul uses the words 'You and me were meant to be' in Martha My Dear out of all songs.a-hard-days-night-paul-10a-hard-days-night-george-10

^You could always tell when Dhani Harrison wrote a post on his band's page because it would all be in lowercase with no punctuation whatsoever.

I guess what Blair Waldorf said about Brown (Dhani's alma mater) was true

"An enclave of trustafarians and children of celebrities who major in drum circles and semiotics. Whatever that is. I can’t wait for you to come home next Thanksgiving a militant veganista. Anemic and proud!"

Here is an easy way to get I and ME correct, @Martha. Take the other person's name (or people's names) (or the their pronouns) out and read the sentence to yourself.

AG and I went to the Paul McCartney concert. (So, read that as "I went to the Paul McCartney concert.) You wouldn't say "Me went to the Paul McCartney concert."

Zig drove AG and me to the baseball game. (So, read that as "Zig drove me to the baseball game.") You wouldn't say "Zig drove I to the baseball game."

That's the trick that has always worked for me.

That could be where Outlook changes the "I" to "me", AG. For example, in the sentence "Zig drove AG and I to the baseball game", it corrects the usage of "I" to "me".

Me I wasn't used to seeing that from Outlook in the past. Thanks!

I had an adverse reaction to a prescription inhaler called Symbicort that caused panic attacks, jaw and stomach pain, loss of appetite and indigestion. I'm still not completely back to normal. The whole thing happened because my new insurance won't cover the inhaler that works for me.

That sounds awful, ET. I'm sorry you're going through that. I hope you're on a different one now that reacts well with your body.

Something similar happened to me recently. I ended up in the hospital for a couple weeks after a bad reaction to prescribed medicine caused me to vomit blood, have a seizure and have my throat close up. I was intubated because of my throat closing up, and afterwards, my whole head was in constant pain for like two weeks. It was an p bad experience.

Oh no, I'm glad you're better, LPD.

I'm in bed right now because I'm still tired from my ordeal.

There are a couple of other inhalers I can try.

Does trying the other inhalers carry the same risk as the last? If so sounds like a game of Russian Roulette with inhalers.

I started to get a cold Friday evening and by Sunday was much iller (iller is a word!!) due to a life long illness. One cold has led to 5 days of ill health and I have taken tomorrow off work as currently I'm not a position to get thru a shift.

To say I'm bored is an understatement.
