Here on the street where I live it’s blowing a gale with heavy grey skies zooming by so going out and staying dry is a complete lottery. One minute it’s blue sunny skies the next rain is pounding against the windows and walls.

It should have been Good Day Sunshine or Good Morning Good Morning

Good luck with the consequences!

I dunno what time it was in Australia, but I wouldn’t listen to those songs at 10 pm.

Can I use that expression? That’s awesome!

(That’s the mild version a-hard-days-night-paul-4) Sure thing, go ahead. I’m fond of creative swearing and interesting expressions in general.

I was suggesting the morning songs to be really annoying to wake up to – would you want wake up (at any time of day or night) to the rooster on Good Morning Good Morning ?

Nope, @Ahhh Girl, what Nasty wants is good friends (such as yourself and others here); food; alcohol; copious amounts of drugs (a-hard-days-night-george-10I would never!); electricity for heating, cooking, and being on the interwebby; and a roof over my head.

Unfortunately, all but the first you have to pay for.

I’ve just been out walking in the snow. Well, shopping for food, alcohol and interwebby top-up.

Yay! Snowing in Londinium!

We have a policy at work that says “employees who work overtime without prior approval are subject to disciplinary action.”

My supervisor called me into the office today to say that I should have stayed 10-15 minutes overtime yesterday without her prior approval.

I hope you reminded her of the policy.

It is heartily enjoyable to remind bosses that you cannot or must do something due to a policy or procedure in place so they can’t argue against. Gives a warm feeling inside. I love how in care work there are buzz words such as choice; if used in the right way they get you away with all sorts. Small victories.

Just found out my university is closed for a bad weather day tomorrow. If the bad weather doesn’t really come, I might go in to play catch up.

If it’s closed go and enjoy yourself by having a day off and doing something more fun.

After 5 days off I return to work for all of one day before another 4 off. Hard, testing times. I do wonder what I did wrong before I left to get told off for tho.

She was already aware of the policy and why I might follow it. I wasn’t being written up, so it wasn’t really that bad. But it felt like a slap on the wrist. She was saying that “common sense” should dictate that I would stay late.

Work in general is incredibly stupid.

Anyway, now I have “prior approval” for next time.

They should close Canberra for the same reason. 39 degrees C and 50 km per hour winds just now (over 102 degrees F).

That’s true, it is dry as a bone down here, but that doesn’t really make a big difference in the really high temperatures. I don’t want to be outside when it’s 110, humid or not.

But while you have no humidity in your sub 100F temperatures, we do. Usually do, in fact. Melbourne just suffered 4 days of 100% humidity. Not fun.
