I’ve recently been taking a Beatles course at my university, which has been rather useful in renewing my Beatle interest (not that I ever really lost it of course). Last week the professor slightly hinted that he was friends with George Martin and after a little googling, I found out he played Tabla on one of Paul’s solo albums. So uh, that’s pretty cool.Great to see you around again, @Bjway . That is a cool story.
I never really left, I just very seldom post is all. Should I talk to the prof a little more, I’ll post if he has any cool stories.
Please Please Us with more stories! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!

Had a ‘jam session’ with some class friends of mine today. The lad who plays drums organised it with his music teacher. All in all we had two guitarists (one acoustic– yours truly– and one electric), a drummer, a technician (meaning the lad who looked up songs and controlled the volume) and the teacher who chipped in on keyboards and conducted, so to speak. I didn’t manage to get them to do any Beatles songs (NEXT TIME, OBOY), but we did play Wish You Were Here, Layla (which was written for Pattie so it’s somewhat Beatley at least), and a little of It Don’t Come Easy (yay Ringo).
‘Twas fun, and I learned a lot

I taught a class via Blackboard Collaborate tonight. One more skill added to my repertoire.
Oh Blackboard, my university uses that. Biggest pain in the — known to mankind, every single year at exam time it stops working so you can’t access your notes >.> It also sometimes refuses to let you login.
I don’t know a single person who likes it
But well done on mastering it AG, an to you.

Okay, got back this afternoon, had a little sleep, looked at Forum, “Feck! There’s a Nasty thread!” Bit embarrassed, but I like the sentiment. Try to think up something to say. Need some time. A little overwhelmed. Make a couple of posts, have a little sleep. Come back, and oh that thread is so now somewhere I can’t post.
I’m ignoring that thread. If you feel so inclined, give a donation to a cancer charity, but not one of the big ones, find one of those cancers that don’t get much attention.
Surgery went well. Three sites of cancer removed. Body quite uncomfortable at the moment. Two to three cycles of chemo to follow, first starting in two weeks with four weekly doses.
I thank you all for your thoughts.

Horrible here too. Had to walk home in mad winds, thankfully the rain held off as otherwise i’d have drown. Its bad enough getting blown about like Donald Trump’s toupee when he goes to blow dry it to show its real.
Just emailed work as I’m meant to be working on Monday until 10pm when its difficult enough getting home in normal weather but winds are forecast to be hitting 70mph. No chance of trains and even the buses may get pulled. Have asked to get off a little earlier but kind of hoping I get told to not bother since its shadow work.

Its freezing cold, the weather is still wild. One minute its calm and dry with blue skies so you think lets go outside and put your coat on. Next its blowing a gale, skies are dark, hailstones are lashing you at 50mph and you’re running for shelter vowing never to go out again and cursing the Scottish weather. Take your coat off, boil the kettle, look outside and the skies are clear and its back to being still.

That is scary, HKL. Do you have a friend or a relative you could stay with instead while you are there?
In my life, I have an appointment with a pain specialist. I wonder if he will be able to end this back pain. Also I will ask him what I can do to keep my arms and hands from going to sleep all the time. The person on the phone when I made the appointment asked if I had ever had a nerve conduction test. I haven’t. Anyone here had one?

It was a blast. It wasn’t a school though, we’re all home-schooled, but we attend the same literature class. The music studio was a more or less private one behind the chap’s house. I don’t know if there’s any recording equipment in there now, though he did say it used to be a recording studio, but I don’t know if you’d want to hear the result of our jammin’ even if I were willing to upload it to the Internet, which I’m not.

HKL has a sister in Manila so staying there is an option if the security upgrade doesn’t make things feel safe enough at her own place.

Good morning @trcanberra, did you see that Brian Wilson is touring Australia this year. The website says he will be performing the entire Pet Sounds album. What do you think @Necko, are you ready to visit the land down under?

Wow – interesting and tempting. His voice has been shot for years but the band still seems pretty good from what I have seen on YouTube; Al and Blondie being along for the ride adds some value as well.
It’s up in Sydney at about the time that we’re hoping HKL can get out here for another holiday (if the tourist visa is granted) – wonder if she would like the show …
It’s impressive that one of the shows is sold out already.
Thanks for the link @sigh butterfly

@Ron Nasty As you’re ignoring that nasty thread, I’d like to come here and say I’m glad everything went well. I hope everything continues to go in that direction and that you’ll be back in full health in the near future.
Edit: An @ sign would’ve helped… Well he’ll see this eventually.
