The vet told us to pay attention to make sure Friendly could urinate because the bite went close to his urethra. He did his biz this morning so he is ok in that department thankfully. He has already been taking Deramaxx for his arthritis so he didn’t have to get any more pain meds. I think he will come through it all ok.

Glad to hear Friendly is recovering. Great news.

Glad you, Zag and Lily are all ok @Zig. Forget the clear up and enjoy the Sunday. Snow melts if you leave it alone.

Yes, it does. It was an absolutely beautiful, clear sunny day but 32 inches of snow melts at a rate that is not conducive to getting the car out of the driveway in time to drive to work on Monday morning. In all, 4 hours of cleanup between snow blowing the driveway and sidewalks, shoveling out utility items and shoveling away a 5 foot high snowdrift that had built up against the sliding glass doors that lead to my back patio. My entire body is stiff and sore.

€20/25 a lesson (per hour?) is a nice price and with three a week turns into a good income. I know who I am turning to the next time money is tight. a-hard-days-night-paul-5

Snow blocking car, work the next day? I’m making a phone call taking the next day off.

For those who don’t know it’s a public holiday here in Oz today (the 26th).

Australia Day

I’m sure you can Google it (or Bing it ha ha) if you have any interest in why we are having a day off work (well, those of us who are not dole bludgers like I apparently am).

I have another appointment with my government apointed job agency tomorrow who will no doubt try something new to get me thrown off my job search allowance. I will once again do my best to try not to tell them that their flee slave labour program is a fascist abomination which they can shove where the sun don’t shine.

Yes, I love visiting them!!

Braces are now fixed. Took them like 10 minutes to fix it (5 of those wasted on the ortho being on the computer submitting info).

Also, the new semester officially started today. Don’t start my new electives until tomorrow, unfortunately (which I’m slightly happy with, I didn’t wanna do tech anyways today). Hoping that this semester goes better than last semester (both grade-wise and less bullying wise, if you know what I mean). Otherwise, not much is even going on. I have rifle class tonight for the first time in almost a month, but that’s really it

I have so many happy memories visiting my local job centre and being welcomed with a cheery hello, cup of tea and choice of biscuits from the always happy to go the extra mile staff. After a nice catch up chat we would then spend a few minutes searching the local jobs that suited my interests before very helpful advice was given on how to go about getting employed in the previously stated areas of interest. Forms were then signed and the lovely helpers wished me on my merry way with cheers of good luck and to drop by for a chat or advice at any time.

It was such a disappointment to have to sign off and leave so many great friendships behind; many tears of sadness were shed, fond farewell hugs freely flowing.

Such wonderful times.

Have you already left for the hospital, @Ron Nasty?

Best of luck to you tomorrow. I hope the surgeons get all the cancerous cells.

Hi @Ahhh Girl, do you think it would be ok to start a thread devoted to communication with Ron? I have some thoughts to share with him but they seem so out of topic here. To explain a little, a friend of mine went through a similar experience as Ron is now. The hospital sponsored a support group that was co-lead by a psychotherapist and a new age minister. Some of the visualization techniques they taught were not only useful for the patients, but also have proven to be great tools in my own life. Also, if Ron experiences some loss of energy it may be easier for him to stay in touch if there is a single communication thread between him and the forum. When Ron gets well the thread can just fade away…Just an idea Ahhh Girl, since we can’t drive Ron to the hospital or feed his cat I’d like to try an do something.

But beards aren’t alive, except at the roots… so saying it’s still alive is erroneous, as it was never alive in the first place.

Hi @Ahhh Girl , @Starr Shine? , @trcanberra & @Beatlebug . I can’t seem to come up with a great name for the thread. Maybe I’m nervous because I’ve never started one before a-hard-days-night-paul-7. Do any of these seem ok?

The Ron Nasty “Get Well Soon” Thread

The Ron Nasty Thread (Getting so much better all the time)

The Ron Nasty Preservation Society Thread

The Ron Nasty News Thread (Get It Here!)

Any ideas would be appreciated – I’d like to start it before he comes home (Sorry-I’m not usually this indecisive)

I like this one since it doesn’t assume and it is more direct.

I was gonna say “The not-so-nasty thread of Ron Nasty,” but I guess that’s the least direct of all.
