Congress makes lynching a federal crime, 65 years after Emmett Till
As person who grew up in the state of Mississippi (although not in the 50s) this should not have taken this long to become a federal crime!

Err, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't murder already a crime? Isn't lynching a form of murder? I'm not sure what difference it makes, unless it's a legal distinction that makes a difference in terms of sentencing, etc.

It's been made a Federal hate crime, meaning it adds an aggravating factor and charges can be brought at the Federal level, especially if not handled properly at State level.

States like Mississippi where Emmett Till happen had the most lynchings; furthermore, a lot of times the people were not prosecuted until years later if ever because of all white juries of the time. Still, it's sad that it has taken this long to acknowledged as a federal hate crime.

I think you might mean prosecuted rather than persecuted @Sky999...

I know. I was a bit surprised, honestly, but I don't particularly care otherwise.

He had the charisma of an alien who learned how to politician by watching Obama videos. I don't particularly miss him.

I mean he was useless, yes, but he was kinda cute and rooting for him was like rooting for my son at a Little League baseball game. He was like a puppy dog. A cute, polite, puppy dog from Indiana who was trying his best but made as many political waves as a stagnant pool of water. However, now that I think about it, I think I know of an actual puppy dog mayor that may have been a better presidential candidate then Buttigieg.....

I mean I never wanted Pete to actually become President but he was nice to have around.
Never good to miss out on the Beatles and then President but some achievement just being in the equation. I wonder if he knows the true reason for having to drop out.

Lads here, I hope those of you in the Super States will be casting your votes for HoleyApple 2020 tomorrow. Even if you're a Republican, we will do things that will make you happy (I personally have been bought out by Big Oil...mmm precious fossil fuels).
Stop all this talk about Buttigieg* and get campaigning for HoleyApple!
*I'm mildly sad that's he gone because some of our newsreaders would always either slightly mispronounce his name or stutter slightly before they said it, 'twas very amusing.

That's right, that's right. Though I don't know any Republican voters who actually want their candidates bought out by anyone... Can I buy you out instead with my independent fortune?

I don't think any voters want their candidates to be bought out but you know if it's facilitated I will take backhanders. I have no qualms with that at all >.>
And depending on how much your fortune is, if it's something you want I'll do it.
Personally I'm all for removing school lunches for children in school. Damn kids don't need nourishment!

You know what? Me neither!
Also, considering I'm not particularly drawn to any of the other Dem candidates as of right now, I gladly cast my vote for HoleyApple2020 (but it wouldn't be quite legal).
