Yeah… I have an account on Pottermore. I’m not active at all, though. I’ve been really busy, can’t wait for the exams to finish!!!

I’m a huge Harry Potter fan. Haven’t read the books in a while, but my fact sticker brain, coupled with my obsession, I can beat almost anyone in Harry Potter (or hockey, Song of Ice and Fire (well, first three books) (finished Storm of Swords, by the way)), rock, star Wars, or a bunch of other stuff) trivia. I just beat my friend in Harry potter trivia yesterday. (by the way, my lack of correct capitalization, puncuation, and spelling is due to the fact that the compuet I’m using (my dads) has a really tiny, crappy keboard.

I have never seen any of the films nor read any of the books. I know next to nothing about Harry Potter nor do i have any interest to ever start.

I did an in-depth character analysis with my friends and we came to the conclusion that Ron is the best out of all of the main characters.

Harry is a moody, cocky, annoying, self-obsessed person particularly in the 5th book/movie. He’s also quite rude.

Hermione was a know-it-all in the first book/movie (an irritating one at that, “it’s leviOSA not leviORSA”).

Fred and George don’t have enough character development to know them intimately, they are just comic relief.

Luna despite being lovable is still strange, very strange. I imagine she would scare quite a few people if you actually met her.

Dumbledore throws Harry into the deep end, despite having all of the knowledge he doesn’t really help Harry all that much while he was still alive. He just said difficult to solve riddles and gave very slight hints that no one would ever pick up.

Snape was a massive prick to Harry from books 1-6 and his relationship with Lily was frighteningly obsessive. It’s understandable of course but that doesn’t make it anyway less creepy.

James Potter was also an asshole, I don’t care what any one says. He was a bully, simple as and the admiration a lot of people have for him is confusing and a bit unrealistic. Just because he was a powerful wizard doesn’t mean he should get away with hanging students upside down for his amusement.

Whereas Ron is a loyal, brave friend. Despite a few slip ups in the 4th and 7th book, he sticks by Harry and does everything in his power to defend Harry.

I love Harry Potter. I wasn’t an early adopter, though. Always reckoned it was overhyped, so I didn’t bother. That is to say, until someone let me read their copy and I was an instant addict. I think book 5 had just been released at the time, so I went on a Harry Potter binge until I was all caught up. I’ve read all books in Dutch and in English (I prefer English) several times, and I do a Harry Potter-filmathon every year around christmas.

Gingers FTW 🙂 Although, I don’t care for Ginny all that much. She’s too perfect. I’d probably hate her with a passion in real life.

I like Ron most too, for exactly the reasons you outlined.

Ginny in the films, has the personality of a wet sponge. This is through no fault of Bonnie Wright’s acting though but Ginny suddenly falls madly in love with Harry in the 6th film which really comes out of nowhere (apart from the 2nd film when she stares at Harry in awe, the audience gets no hint that Ginny has a thing for Harry). It is really poor screenwriting and character development that is to blame for Ginny’s sudden fascination with Harry in the films:

“Hey what do we do with Harry now that Cho Chang and him have called it quits?”

– “I don’t know didn’t Jo write something about Harry and Ginny going out in the 6th book”

“But we haven’t written anything about it in the 3rd, 4th or 5th film?”

“Well, we don’t want the book fans pissed so we’ll just spring the Harry/Ginny relationship out of nowhere”

Granted I haven’t read any of the later stage books (5-7) in about 4 years so I need to read them over again before I do a book-Ginny comment but I liked her in the books. She’s more independent and self-confident than the other female characters in the book and I appreciated her tomboy attitude 🙂

I’m not sure I agree completely. Though the books are much more outspoken about Ginny’s infatuation, it can be seen in the films too. In Chamber of Secrets, she freezes and hurtles out of the room when she sees Harry and I’m quite sure one of the twins says something about her never shutting up about Harry. There are other moments, but I agree it’s not very obvious, especially to those who haven’t read the books.

I love Harry Potter. It’s my favorite series. I read all the books and always freak out when it’s on Free Form (even though it’s every weekend).

My favorite character would be Draco Malfoy because of Tom Felton. I just love a Slytherin complex. But if I had to seriously choose a favorite character, it’d be Hermione.

Why do you say that? Does he have everyone fooled or something?

I don’t know if it’s more weird that the Beatles all complement each other or that the four Houses are so accurate. Either way, no one can argue about which House Ringo would be in.

Only music can save us.

Read the first book and a little bit of the second book and that was it. It was like 3 years ago, I was 10, and didn’t understand what was going on half the time and just didn’t bother

No I think that he always had ambition and he knew just how to work people to suite his advantages and to further his goals.

He was the one most motivated to keep The Beatles going.
