Haha, you have a point, ExTex. I suppose I was looking through my customary rose-tinted glasses at the whole thing, and certainly staying with my grandparents is always lovely. When it comes to the extended-family-gatherings, though, I usually end up in a corner with a guitar or drawing pad being anti-social. Being the only out-of-state folks in a fairly close-knit family can be a bit weird… and I still can’t keep track of all the great-aunts on my paternal grandmother’s side!
LOL. I’m sure we will find something to enjoy. At least we will have a nice meal and some free time.

5. I can go to HMBeatlesfan’s house and have Thanksgiving with him and his friends (I live next door to him and yes, he gave me permission to say this)
Had a feeling you two knew each other.
I thought they were the same person.

I stayed home with a certain special girl and ate pizza for Thanksgiving this year. Got to avoid the alcoholic family drama AND spend some time alone with her for once. Never been happier.

Wow, same!
My Thanksgiving was nice and calm, but the family member that was making all the vegetables ended up getting sick and wasn’t able to make them, so I ended up with a bowl of broccoli for Thanksgiving din din. There was some pretty bomb pumpkin pie, though, so that almost made up for the lack of brussels sprouts.

According to Wikipedia, Thanksgiving is also celebrated in Brazil, Grenada, the city of Lieden in the Netherlands, Saint Lucia, on Norfolk Island, and in the Philippines (although it isn’t an official holiday there anymore).
But yes, happy (now somewhat late) Thanksgiving to all of our Americans! I hope your turkey/ham/whatever else you may have had instead dinners were tasty and filling.

Isn’t Thanksgiving celebrated on different days in those places? Could be wrong
I've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.
