I find it funny how today people give thanks for what they have and the next day people go out shopping like mad

Another part of life that goes over my head. Why am i expected to get excited that something i dont want is heavily reduced to a price that i dont want to pay?
But if you want it
Then you must find it
But when you have it
There'll be no need for it

Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow American Forumpudlians.
Actually, this year, my family decided to celebrate Thanksgiving the day after Thanksgiving this year, so I'm probably going to be the only American online today.

I'm online. We haven't left to visit my wife's family yet.

I'm thankful for life, family, friends, music (esp. that of the Beatles), and all of you lovely people on this lovely forum!
Nailed it! I'd also like to thank inspiration in its many forms and food!
Hope everyone everywhere is having a lovely day, celebrating or not! Be careful if you go outside tomorrow.
I have to watch out because Black Friday is mini record store day.

Ever since I heard the Dollop podcast on the actual events of Thanksgiving, I find it a weird thing to celebrate; it's akin to our Invasion Day. But I'm not going to knock the idea of a general thanksgiving, don't eat too much guys!
I'm like Necko only I'm a bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin and also everyone. Or is everyone me? Now I'm a confused bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin everyone who is definitely not @Joe. This has been true for 2016 & 2017 but I may have to get more specific in the future.

An early Happy Thanksgiving wish for my fellow Americans. "Let's make America great again!"
I'll be spending the day at home cooking dinner for my in-laws, watching football and having a cocktail or 6.
Did I mention that I am off work for the next 11 days? Yee-haw!!
May your stuffing be tasty
May you turkey be plump
May your gravy have nary a lump
May your spuds be delicious
May your pies take the prize
May your Thanksgiving dinner stay off your thighs

Happy Thanksgiving, @Zig et al. 2016 was a crappy year, but I am thankful that the earth has not yet been destroyed, we are all still alive, we still have Social Security and Medicare, Obama is still our president, and we have ears with which to hear music.

My parents are here right now with my cousin and we're listening to Beatles 65' (currently on the harmonica/guitar solo of I'm A Loser ). Also have some of my friends coming over soon as well.
Maybe you should try posting more.

So this is Thanksgiving... and I'd say it's a jolly good opportunity to revive the appreciation thread!
I must say, this has to be my favourite out of the holidays that are exclusive to America. It's nice, the idea of having a holiday devoted to gathering with family and overeating erm, appreciating life's blessings.
