Are there any Beatles songs that don’t have brilliant intros?
Trying to think of intros I really dislike, as opposed to mere indifference…
…OK, I’m not fond of the harmonica chord introducing “Little Child ” – it feels like it’s the wrong key. I’d happily lose the first 8 seconds of “Mother Nature’s Son “. (Also not personally big on “You Like Me Too Much “, but that’s still an interesting experiment, comparable to “I’ve Just Seen A Face “.)

Okay, you have a point with Little Child , for sure. But I like the intro to You Like Me Too Much . And Mother Nature’s Son isn’t bad.

Aw, I love the intro to Mother Nature’s Son . I love how it starts off somewhat jolty but then settles down into that gorgeous fingerpicking.

Hmm, I may not be doing it right.

I think It’s All Too Much has the coolest intro. Along with Strawberry Fields Forever , of course.

It’s mostly that little reach up when Paul sings the title. It’s not impossibly hard or anything, but just something I find a bit tricky.

Love them all, but Walrus is so bizarre and distinctive. It’s probably not just my favourite intro but my favourite Beatles song. Although Strawberry Fields Forever would be tied.

Ah, yes, that is a little tricky. I’ve been playing it for a while but I haven’t played it for a while so I forgot about it
To stay on topic, I really, really appreciate my bandmates. They’re just such great people and musicians and I’m ridiculously blessed to have them in my life
(we’re having a concert on Saturday and we’ve been practising a lot lately so it’s on my mind, sorry to flex yet again Q-man )

On the verge of buying a plane ticket over the Atlantic to sit in with you guys You don’t by any chance need another bass player, do you?

Sure, come on over! We could use another bass player and the bassist could play keyboards. Or you could play guitar and I could just stand around and yowl like Robert Plant.

I appreciate modern medicine.
It’s an absolute miracle of human ingenuity and progress that I can have my stupid sideways molars dug out of the back of my jawbone without feeling a thing, all the while rather enjoying myself, scooting about the universal consciousness on a magic carpet of chemicals.

Do people actually have bad experiences at the dentist? Going to the dentist has always been such a neutral event to me. Not good not bad.
Yeah, I just find it boring. Especially my regular dentist where they play soporific smooth elevator jazz. (I whip my headphones on as soon as they leave the room — it’s a bit rude if they’re around but they often leave to check on others and then it’s right back to muh Beatles. ) I think the idea of the evil dentist experience is probably a remnant of the Bad Old Days when technology and medicine was less advanced.
Anyway, it’s Father’s Day so I’d just like to say I really really appreciate dads, especially mine.

Well I’m back in Cali and pretty much settled back in after several long retirement trips. Caught up with what I’ve missed on the forum and it is awesome to see so many of my fav fabs going strong and all the Beatle love . Congrats to @Beatlebug and @The Hole Got Fixed and thanks for taking on the mod responsibilities. You are both a great addition to the team. Also a shout out to @50yearslate and her prolific posting since I left – very enjoyable reading. Also I believe we may be neighbors (SJ) – nice sunny day today, huh. Now off to my BBH room to do a bit of dusting
