Damn. I wish I looked that sharp (let’s be fair, that suit is pretty sharp to begin with). John, as ridiculed as he was for his looks he really had his way of going insanely cool if he wanted to. He sometimes chose not to. That’s a power move right there.

I know there were comments from reporters and such labeling him as the “fat Beatle” and because of that John had a lot of insecurities and body image issues, but besides that, I couldn’t see how else John was ridiculed.
I, for one, never found John “fat” or unattractive” in any way. He might’ve gotten a bit thicc at some points but he wasn’t f— fat.

Rubber Soul jacket era John is probably his coolest look.
I love love love John’s RS look. What an absolute snaccc. And as much as I enjoy looking at him in the jacket, I, at the same time, really really want that jacket. Even though I’m a female, I bet I could pull it off…..I could outfit it over a black t-shirt or camisole tucked into some high-waisted jeans, cuffed at the ankles, with my matte black Docs ……and maybe I could definitely pull off Lennon’s hat too and I have my floral shades…….It would make a terrific autumn look

I was actually talking about his hippie face with the hair and all that, which I personally think it was an awesome look, but you know the media wasn’t ready for it so they made a day out of mocking him. And also people talked about his nose a lot, every time they caricaturized him they would make him ugly with a much bigger nose than he had, which is a shame because he had a lovely face, even if it wasn’t the stereotypical attractive face. To be honest, I never heard anything about him being fat where did that came from
I never saw him without a shirt on but I always thought he was skinny.

“When ‘Help ‘ came out in ’65, I was actually crying out for help. Most people think it’s just a fast rock ‘n roll song. I didn’t realize it at the time; I just wrote the song because I was commissioned to write it for the movie. But later, I knew I really was crying out for help. It was my fat Elvis period. Offline John looks amazing in 1965, I’ve never agreed with him being fat but that’s how he felt and it must have been insane going thru all that. John was very aware of his failings and really struggled to accept himself for a very long time so it must have been incredibly difficult to have had so many people adoring him every place he went, every time he opened up a newspaper.
