I’ll try my hand at this…

Side One:

1. I Saw Her Standing There

2. All My Loving

3. A Hard Day’s Night

4. Eight Days A Week

5. You’re Going To Lose That Girl

6. Nowhere Man

7. Paperback Writer

Side Two:

8. And Your Bird Can Sing

9. Hello Goodbye

10. With A Little Help From My Friends

11. Back In The USSR

12. Helter Skelter

13. Hey Bulldog

14. Here Comes The Sun

15. Let it Be

If I did it by my favourite song off each album, it would be terribly different, but this is a list to appeal to the masses.

A good mix of well known and a couple of hidden gems?

I’ve had this one around for a while.  I call it ‘The Country Beatles’, and it features country/folk-ish songs from 1964-1965.  Coincidentally, it also has a ton of songs beginning with the letter ‘i’.

  1. You Like Me Too Much
  2. I’m Looking Through You
  3. Girl
  4. Act Naturally
  5. Michelle
  6. I’ll Cry Instead
  7. I Don’t Want To Spoil The Party
  8. I’m A Loser
  9. If I Needed Someone
  10. I’ll Follow The Sun
  11. You’ve Got To Hide Your Love Away
  12. I’ve Just Seen A Face
  13. I Should Have Known Better
  14. Yesterday

Oh, I just realized that this is in the All Together Now thread, so I can post non Beatles songs.

Well this one is more of an EP size, but here’s a 30ish minute 80’s mixtape that I made for my friend.

Side A:
1. Take On Me – A-ha
2. That’s What It Takes – George Harrison
3. Never Gonna Give You Up – Rick Astley
4. We Didn’t Start The Fire – Billy Joel

Side B:
5. My Brave Face – Paul McCartney
6. Billie Jean – Michael Jackson
7. Don’t Stop Believin’ – Journey
8. Livin’ On A Prayer – Bon Jovi

I wanted to put some familiar stuff on there with some little songs she hasn’t heard before. Tell me what you think.

I’ll make one for The Beatles.  It goes through a love story in side one, going into more reflective music for side 2. I think it works well played sequentiality.

I’ll Call It “A Day In The Life

Side One

Taxman

Good Morning Good Morning

If I Fell

Girl

For No One

Yesterday

If I Needed Someone

Side Two

Help !

While My Guitar Gently Weeps

Strawberry Fields Forever

A Day In The Life

Happiness Is A Warm Gun

Sexy Sadie

Good Night

So I couldn’t think of a theme but then I realised that the Beatles have quite a few songs with animals in the title and I went through the list of officially released songs and it adds up to 14 tracks with one Ringo song. It is very heavy on Lennon songs and I was scraping the barrel with some of these selections but in order to keep the animal theme I have included them. I have called this playlist The Beatles Wildlife Adventure.

1. Leave My Kitten Alone (Anthology 1 )

2. Blackbird (The White Album )

3. Hey Bulldog (Yellow Submarine )

4. Piggies (The White Album )

5. I Am The Walrus (Magical Mystery Tour )

6. Octopus’s Garden (Abbey Road )

7. Everybody’s Got Something To Hide Except For Me and my Monkey (The White Album )

8. And Your Bird Can Sing (Revolver )

9. Rocky Raccoon (The White Album )

10. Too Much Monkey Business (Live At The BBC )

11. Three Cool Cats (Anthology 1 )

12. Dig A Pony (Let It Be …Naked)

13. Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown) (Rubber Soul )

14. Free As A Bird (Anthology 1 )
