Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, whatever may be left of them! john-lennon-salute_gif

WeepyC is also very happy, having received:

– Animals by Pink Floyd (original pressing, on vinyl)

– that Beatles Rock ‘N’ Roll Music compilation that was adorned with 50’s artwork for some odd reason (also vinyl, of course; still sealed, actually a-hard-days-night-george-9)

– some Beatles CDs (Live At The BBC , Anthologies 2 & 3)

– Misc. other little things like books and stuff

– Roger Waters tickets…

Ain’t that the truth… I got a keyboard, an electronic drum kit and numerous gift cards, just to name a few… It’s definitely nice to know that people still love me. heart

But we must not forget,

Books, books, books and a Kindle, so the answer is books, books, books, books. I already have 30 of said books put on the Kindle- fun stuff.  Also I got my traditional candy cane gift. Alas no Beatley things, mam looked for the 2017 calendar as I’ve been getting Beatle calendars for Christmas since 2014(?) but the man who normally runs the pop-up shop in Galway city didn’t rent out his outlet this year so she couldn’t get it. I have a €10 online voucher for Eason’s bookshop but they don’t have it available at the minute so I’m on a messaging list for when it comes back in stock. I really hope it does a-hard-days-night-paul-7.

I am doing a gift exchange with my friends sometime this week so I’ll probably get at least one Beatley thing off them, I shall update when we do it ahdn_george_08

The favorite things I gave people this Christmas:

1. to my favorite cousin’s wife: a DK travel guide for New York so she can plan their trip to the Big Apple (I was so proud of that one!)
2. to my favorite cousin: a moose rain gauge, a moose Christmas card (his nickname is Moose), and the Queen and Corgi salt-n-pepper shakers I got him while I was in the UK
3. to my mom’s sister: anti-fatigue cushy mats she can put in front of her stove and sink
4. to Ahhh mom: a thing to help her open jars (she’s getting older and weaker so she needs something to help get jars open), a thing you chop food on (it has a really cool handle), under-cabinet slide out drawers so she doesn’t have to fiddle under dark cabinets trying to find stuff

Among the other gifts I received, my cousin and his wife gave me a Beatles calendar. Mom gave me a Beatles Ed Sullivan Christmas ornament. Beatles make me happy.

A Beatles calendar for the upcoming year

A Beatles Anthology 2 puzzle to go with my Anthology 1 puzzle(now I only need Anthology 3 to complete the collection)

Some money, and gift cards to a couple of food places

A piano keyboard, so I can learn piano

Various little things, some food related and some not

Silly Girl is a Happy Girl, for she got

  • George Harrison All Things Must Pass (CD)
  • Now listening to ATMP — ECSTATIC! beatlemaniacs_02_gifbeatlemaniacs_02_gifbeatlemaniacs_02_gifbeatlemaniacs_02_gif

I saw ATMP on vinyl at the vinyl shop, and I thought about buying it. However, sadly, the box was absolutely destroyed. It was quite sad. If I was more emotional I might have just cried right there.

What do you mean you DIDNT BUY IT?! Fudge the box — it’s the records that matter! Were they in good condition?

I only checked the first one, and it was in okay condition. If I decide it is in decent enough condition, I’ll buy it next time I go.

If you’re buying something from a record store in that condition it shouldn’t be more than 5 bucks.
There were tons of copies made of that album, and buying a crappy copy just because you want the record, isn’t always the best decision (unless the album is a butcher cover). Chances are a better copy will show up.

The guy told me he geberally only prices the records based on the quality of the record itself, and not the quality of the cover, unless the cover quality is horrid. The ATMP record was priced at like $12, so I felt that was a little much for the box quality.

@Beatlebug, don’t worry, when I find a better copy of ATMP , I’ll add it to my collection.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas this year…

The only Beatles things I got were two shirts and a lunchbox, but the most exciting things I got were red Converse high tops (which I have wanted since before kindergarten), and pink Converse high tops (I just outgrew my last pair and have felt lost without them).

Happy 1000th post on this thread.

The drum kit I got for Christmas has been very useful – I now have a tiny amount of the talent Ringo has, as opposed to none before!
