I’ve never seen any of them. The plot of 1 already sounded like crap to me.

After all these years, I still really love the Muppet’s version of a Christmas Carol. I’ve seen that movie like what, 10 times? And I could still watch it and enjoy it this year. Anyway, I’m curious what films will be on. Last year there were only 2 Christmas films on and I had seen them both. A bit disappointing.

You should never pre-judge a comedy by its plot.  If you haven’t seen the first then in my mind you are missing one of the funnier films made in ‘recent’ years.  My kids all loved it.

Well this is more wintry than Christmasy, but it is cute.

The trees have finally gone up, and I’ve swapped all my normal plants pots outside for Christmas ones. I’m going to make mince pies and mulled wine at the weekend, too. Love this time of year :)

Moving along in our God given ways, safety is sat by the fire/Sanctuary from these feverish smiles, left with a mark on the door.

Cue a seasonal ‘bah humbug’ from me.  It’s hard to feel in the mood when the temperature will top 100 (old scale) over the next couple of days.

I don’t think I could do Christmas when it’s like that. It just wouldn’t feel ”right”. We won’t be having snow this year, but at least it’s cold and a bit Christmassy. It’s nice to snuggle down by the fire once the sun begins to go down (which is quite early at this time of year), especially after eating way too much at lunch.

Only one week to go, folks! I’m trying to feel happy about it, but I’m actually feeling surprisingly, and unusually, unexcited about it all this year :(

It’s especially annoying with all the northern movies and specials with snow and mulled wine and roaring fires and we are all ‘perspiring’ like you wouldn’t believe.

Ah, yes Christmas, on Wednesday  I planned that if I listened to the Beatles Christmas’ records chronologically on TheOneBeatleManiac’s YouTube channel, (yes, I am that grateful)

Well well, I should be the one grateful that someone hears my uploads of The Beatles Christmas’ records a-hard-days-night-john-6. I am re-uploading them, remastered by myself for this christmas time, plus outtakes if I manage to upload them all, as well a stereo remixed Rubber Soul , and a remastered by myself Decca audition for New Year. a-hard-days-night-ringo-15

Thanks, McLennonsSon!

Let me take you down 'cause I'm going to...Strawberry Fields.

I bet the images of red hot fires don’t really help either :(

Years ago that would found funny, nowadays it just sounds creepy (too many stories in the news) – like with Santa being a old man who creeps into your kids bedroom whilst everyone is asleep, every other day of the year you’d be calling the police.

Oh how to ruin the idea of Santa (itself an anagram of Satan).

Yeah, you’re right, I should have given more context to the comment. This is a post going around among adult females. We (3 adult females) just had a big discussion in my office about “knowing the source” of certain comments because I got confused and thought one of the participants in the conversation was saying that a statement was made on Fox News but it was made on the Daily Show. Yeah, the source makes a big difference.

School is out for Christmas (hazawh) So my lovely friends and I exchanged presents, cards, festive cheer and yap yap. So I got:

2 Beatles mugs: Abbey Road and Can’t Buy Me Love

12667765.jpgImage Enlarger

^^^^ The poor Abbey Road box got the living sh*t kicked out of it, so it’s all crinkled at the top :(

19-0018.jpgImage Enlarger

^^^^ The most girlish looking Beatle thing or what?

And another lovely buddy got me a faux-diamond bracelet (it’s a tradition thing, I must have about 12 diamond bracelets by now :P )and “In The Footsteps of The Beatles” which is basically a 500 minute+ series of 4 DVDs which do tours of all the areas in Liverpool, Hamburg and London that were important in the history of the band and it has load of great guests on it as well (Bill Harry, Keith Badman etc.) BUT either I got a botched set or I don’t know as only the sound on the London DVD works, on every other DVD all you hear is the background music and you see the presenter talking but no sound…grrr t’is aggravating it is…

On a happier note

For anyone interested Amazon UK have got a handful of Christmas songs available to download for free, and they’re not crappy versions of songs you know but includes artists such as Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole and Brenda Lee (her version of Rocking Around The Christmas Tree is the definitive one in my opinion – and is the one featured in Home Alone).

I posted to the news thread and remembered this would also be a good home… Paul during Jimmy Fallon’s monologue on SNL last night:

Merry Christmas from the U.S. Army. I think John would like to see a tank dressed up for Christmas rather than for action.
