I didn’t even know it existed until an article was posted on the bbc about its final episode. Does the series live up to the hysteria?
Just asked a co-worker that same question. He said it does.

In a word: absolutely. The story is intricately woven and smart, and the actors articulate it with unmatched versatility. Seriously, coming from someone whose exposure to television is minimal, Breaking Bad ensnared me from the start. In fact, I’ve never invested so much time and thought into a television program before. Bryan Cranston alone justifies its exploration.
The montages are always apt, and the utilization of Baby Blue was no different. It was perfect. A perfect ending to a series that never faltered.
I didn't know what I was missing.

And AMC is creating a “prequel” series called Better Call Saul, about the pre-Breaking Bad hijinks of Saul Goodman, who was Walt’s lawyer in the series. I’m a fan of the comedian who plays Saul, Bob Odenkirk, and have been since his Ben Stiller Show/Mr. Show days, so while I never really caught on to Breaking Bad, I might check out Better Call Saul.

Yes, Breaking Bad is my favorite show ever. It seems like a lot of shows have bad last seasons, but Breaking Bad was perfect from the first episode all the way until the last.

I haven’t seen the show yet (I usually wait until a series is over to rent it), but Vince Gilligan was one of my favorite X-Files writers.
* From Billboard: sales of “Baby Blue” by Apple artists Badfinger shot up by 3000% following the use of the song in the finale of “Breaking Bad.”
Industry sources suggest the song is set for a nearly 3,000% sales gain in the week ending Sept. 29. It sold nearly 5,000 downloads just last night. Remarkably, that one-day figure should immediately make the 1972 song earn its largest digital sales week ever. It has never sold more than 1,000 downloads in a single week, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

What’s awesome is how that song will now be going into rotation at thousands of classic rock radio stations. Soon, it’ll be another song that everyone likes to crank and sing along with.
I call the court’s attention to “Don’t Stop Believin'”, which in 2009 turned from just another rock song to THE song everybody seemed to be singing.
And don’t forget that “Stuck In The Middle With You” by Stealer’s Wheel disappeared from rotation for almost 20 years before the Reservoir Dogs soundtrack revived it.

I could be wrong, but I always thought that Don’t Stop Believin’ was “revived” with the 2003 movie, Monster, in which the movie’s protagonists have an intimate scene to the song. That’s just what I gathered, anyway. As I already mentioned, I don’t watch a lot of contemporary movies or television, so this may fall outside of my realm of knowledge.

While “Monster” got a lot of critical praise, it was the final moments of “The Sopranos” that brought the song back. And then “Glee” butchered it, which sealed the deal.
It’s funny… If you start digging around YouTube you can see that a lot of Badfinger tracks are getting “Breaking Bad” mentioned in the comments. And since every article you can read about them mentions the Beatles and Apple Records, I expect to see a bit more interest cultivated over the next few years. Probably nothing major, but still…

I watched the first episode yesterday on Netflix and I’m surprised I liked it. I think its one of the first shows I didn’t get bored with the first episode. Normally, with shows it takes me like a few episodes or in the case of Mad Men four seasons to like it. I love Mad Men, but the first 3 seasons, especially the first two, were kind of slow to me.

LOVE Breaking Bad. There is now a hole I need to fill now that it’s all over. I love Jesse.
"Please don't bring your banjo back, I know where it's been.. I wasn't hardly gone a day, when it became the scene.. Banjos! Banjos! All the time, I can't forget that tune.. and if I ever see another banjo, I'm going out and buy a big balloon!"
