So, I’m starting a new topic – Awaiting Moderation – every time you make a comment in the Things We Said Today section – you can make a quick post here whilst you are “Awaiting Moderation” For example
“I am awaiting moderation for a comment I’ve submitted regarding The White Album .”
this way it won’t feel so lonely.
Anyone else?

Back last may, everyone got affected with moderation sickness. That pandemic inspired the Beatles bible back up forum.

Sorry, I just eye-caught your awesome signature and my Beatley-brain warped it. I think it’s a good idea. Can one of the mods explain to me why moderation is necessary?
I’m awaiting moderation on my comment on “For You Blue “, which is song of the day today. I just listened to it for the first time, and found it lovely, and then listened to Dhani’s version, and was flipped out by how much he sounds like George, and other things to that effect.
EDIT: I see that several new posts appeared while I was very slowly typing mine. Correction: I type fast, but I write slow. Anyway, I was talking to @robert.

When you submit a comment into the Things We Said Today section – after you submit, this is the message you get “Your comment is awaiting moderation.” – and then at some point it shows up – so right now I am “awaiting moderation” for a comment I submitted on The White Album “.
I assume one of the site moderators looks at each of those comments and decides whether or not to post it – which I totally get and understand – but I started this topic just for fun while posters wait.
Clear as mud?

Offline There must be a glitch in the system. The mods don’t have any notifications that any posts are in moderation status.
Who all has something in moderation status?

The way Joe has things set up now, only first posts by new users go into moderation unless a mod sees something that needs to be restricted (put in moderation) until it is reviewed by the other mods. All existing member’s posts should go through easy-breezy.

I’m pretty sure that every post submitted to the “Things We Said Today ” is held for moderation – in my five years as a member of this site of every one of mine has – and the message you get back is that your comment is Awaiting Moderation – maybe it’s just Joe who looks at them – which is completely fine – but I’m fairly sure that’s the way it works.

When you make posts to those pages, Joe has to read and approve them. Those comments end up on the home page in the Things We Said Today box.
Joe gets to them as soon as he can in between his job and family responsibilities.

Still not getting the point of this thread, not that i have a problem with it.
Edit: Had a look and saw that you just post your email and a name so i guess if it goes into waiting for approval, probably by default, and Joe has to approve them by himself. I did wonder what he did with his spare time.

No one is “piling” on anyone and i know it wasnt a complaint. I honestly had no idea that posts over there had to be waited for Joe’s approval and my “you” in the above quoted post (“Do you have to be signed in to post a comment…”) was a plural you not a singular you. Just trying to figure out what was being posted about and if there was something we mods were missing.

Offline No, I didn’t get the vibe that you were complaining. No worries there. I was just terribly afraid that we mods were missing something and therefore letting all of you down. I’m glad we got it all figured out.
You can be logged into your BB account when you post something on the main pages. It will give you a notice that you are posting as _(your username)_. Or you could post using a made up name and an email if you don’t want people to know it is you posting on the main site.
That is correct, @Starr Shine?. Zig, mmm, and I cannot make any changes or do any post approvals on the main site pages. We are forum mods.
