That’s all? You’re lucky.
I have to lament Russell Wilson turning a 20 yard loss on a fumble into a 35 yard gain. What would have been 2nd and 30 became first and goal at the 4 and they scored two plays later. Otherwise, Blair Walsh may not have had to attempt the 27 yard chip shot that he missed…which is something else I have to lament. Yours was a Band-Aid being ripped off your arm. Mine was a slow, agonizing death.
There are going to be two great games this weekend – can’t wait.
Also looking forward to the Vikings moving into their new digs next year – it looks incredible. Then, in 2019, the new stadium for the LA Rams will be completed. The artist renderings I’ve seen are insane.

I heard about Coldplay, but did not know about Beyoncé. Kind of an odd combo, but should be interesting.
As for the game itself, Carolina has really shown me something in their 2 playoff games so far. As I wrote earlier, I did not hold much stock in their record considering the cupcake schedule they had this year*. Apparently 16 regular season “practice games” will turn you into a monster. They absolutely destroyed Arizona and I thought AZ was the best team in the league – shows you how much I know.
Anyway, does anyone else feel that the 50th Super Bowl, a huge deal for the NFL, will be a bit anticlimactic with a Carolina/Denver matchup? I feel the 50th Super Bowl deserves a more historic matchup. As much as it pains me to say it, maybe either Green Bay or Dallas representing the NFC with either Pittsburgh or Oakland representing the AFC. But, since this is what is being laid on our table, I just hope it’ll be a good game. Both teams have great defenses, so there is that.
*The Vikings (and the rest of the NFC North) have the same non-divisional opponents next year (AFC South and NFC East!!).

I have a library friend who is a Denver fanatic. His whole house is decorated in Bronco’s stuff. My high school colors were orange and blue. I guess I will cheer for Denver this year.

I happen to live a few miles from Levi Stadium. Monday on the way home I encountered the Bronco’s team buses on their way to the media day event. It was pretty funny with all the passerby honking and waving going on. The county gov let local residents enter a lottery for tickets but I didn’t win 😐 so I’ll be watching the game from my couch. Probably go up to the Super Bowl City on Saturday to check out all the activities though.

Too bad about not winning tickets.
I’ve been to pro baseball games, but never a pro footbal game. I want to go to one one day.

I have no idea about either of the sides or the rules but I will be watching this Sunday into Monday morning.
Coldplay and Beyonce have a new song to promote hence their appearance. I’ll have to avoid their performance otherwise I will pass into a coma; i find Coldplay so mindbogglingly dull.

Q: What do you do when your family’s team is playing against the team of your home state?
A: Root for the Dawgs!
And we won.

Week 1 in the NFL is complete. @trcanberra’s Green Bay Packers are atop the Power Rankings…for now.
Meanwhile, my boys won their first game in convincing fashion. My new jersey (not the state!) is 1-0. I wore it while watching their game last Monday night.
I love the fact that my favorite player on my favorite team is named Harrison.

@trcanberra you ready to get smashed by my Falcons on Sunday?
I’m glad to see this thread active. Best time of the year is when Football comes back. I wore my Julio Jones jersey during the playoff run last year, and am 1-0 as well so far this year with it.
