Grand! I’ll let you know which day I pick. It might be both, so I can let it soak into my brain properly.

Just got most of these too. Already had the Floyd set, but I just got White Album , Imagine , More Blood More Tracks and Red Rose Speedway

Cool, @sir walter raleigh. Did you get the Floyd box set or the standalone volumes like me? I couldn’t justify the extra 280 dollars for one set.

In return I offered some Dylan or Beatles sessions but he wasn’t interested. Instead I gave him about 25 GB of Grateful Dead

I’m giving my friend a copy of the Elvis documentary, “The Searcher.”

Sorry to go off topic but what’s The Searcher like?

Just so I don’t get in trouble I will stay on topic. I went to a music store and they had a bargain bin of CD’s for $2, I wasn’t expecting to find anything good but I ended up with quite the haul. Some of these bands are Australian so you might not know them but I ended up with:

Sum 41 – 13 voices

Spiderbait – Spiderbait

Grinspoon – Black Rabbits

Dead Letter Circus – This is the Warning

Dead Letter Circus – The Catalyst Fire

Jane’s Addiction – The Great Escape Artist

Slash – Made in Stoke 24/7/11

Everclear – The Best of Everclear

Poison – The Best of Poison: 20 Years of Rock

And in the end the lunch you take is equal to the lunch you bake.

It’s quite long with lots of different people talking about Elvis over old film footage. Most fans are quite happy with it, although they didn’t cover much about his interest in metaphysics and the occult. It’s mainly a biopic that focuses on the music, and his addiction.

Elvis by The Presleys is a good documentary to watch after this one that covers other areas.

One problem I have with most Elvis things is that Priscilla controls the narrative, and Elvis would not have wanted that.

Is there an Elvis documentary that focuses on the occult/dark or creepy aspects of his legacy. I love those Paul is Dead videos and would love to look into the crazy stuff going on with Elvis.

I don’t know about documentaries, but I know there’s some stuff on the Youtube about the whole “elvis is alive” thing, which amuses me beyond belief. (it’s the opposite of paul is dead a-hard-days-night-ringo-6)

When I say “occult” I mean secret spiritual teachings, such as in Manly Hall’s “The Secret Teachings of All Ages.” Elvis was into Hall and also eastern philosophy such as Yogananda. Elvis by the Presleys goes into this a little.

If you want a book on the subject I recommend If I Can Dream by Larry Geller.

If you want a book on the crazy side, I recommend Blue Star Love, which talks about how Elvis is from a blue planet where they keep telepathic peacocks as pets.

Forgot to post here before, but I got the following albums, all on CD, with my Christmas money (because I am a child still):

Led Zeppelin I – Led Zeppelin (1989)
Low – David Bowie (1977)
“Heroes” – David Bowie (later in 1977, the man was a workaholic)
A Saucerful of Secrets – Pink Floyd (1968)

and I also got Station to Station by David Bowie (1976) on vinyl, but it was so full of skips it wouldn’t play and I had to return it. Still haven’t gotten around to purchasing a replacement yet.

ARGH I totally forgot I also purchased Simulation Theory by Muse (2018), and here’s a pic of all my glossy acquisitions.

I put my iTunes playlist from home onto a large USB. So I’ll be able to synch it on my laptop away from home now. I’ll be adding the Super Deluxe version of the White Album and Sgt Pepper . Really eager to listen to each of these properly and give my thoughts in more detail.
