It’s interesting how many people still buy their music, I personally don’t because of sites like YouTube, but I respect people who do.

Honestly, I don’t either. This vinyl buying thing is just a hobbie of mine.

Phew, thanks @Necko! I thought I was gonna look weird buying records two days in a row, but I’m not alone now.

Today I bought George Harrison the album, by the person

I also bought @trcanberra Ringo Rotogravure, which is in really nice condition.

Then because it was 50¢, Billy Joel’s Nylon Curtain on CD. the disc and papers are in great condition, but the Jewel case is moderately cracked.

Great choices there Billy although I notice that your music collection is lacking some heavier music, may I recommend a bit of Queen, maybe News Of The World. As for you Necko, I have to ask why do you still buy CD’s, unlike vinyl which people still buy because it’s classic and an analog recording, CD’s are just obsolete, just like Windows XP, floppy disks, pagers, CRT TV’s, RF inputs and outputs, CD’s, VHS’s, cassettes, and writing letters.

If you're reading this, you are looking for something to do.

People can make their own choices in what music to buy or not to buy.

Not all music taste will be the same as your own, and it’s not your job to change people’s taste to match yours.

No, they’re not obsolete. They wouldn’t still sell them and press albums onto them if they were obsolete. (Unlike CRT TVs, floppy disks, pagers, VHS tapes, and cassettes)

I want to own an actual copy of something rather than have it on a hard drive that could fail or break at some point. I also don’t want to rely on streaming, because A. I don’t own it B. I don’t want to rely on having an Internet connection. Furthermore, I listen to them. Simple as that.

Ehh, the Eagles are about as Heavy as I get. My favorite Paul song is Wanderlust, so that should say something about my tastes.

Necko, why don’t you just use vinyl instead, it’s better than CD’s and they still make them. Also, just because something has yet to be discontinued doesn’t mean it isn’t obsolete, if we were in 1989 I would consider the Atari 2600 obsolete despite their being new games coming out for it for another year and the system itself not being discontinued until 1992. As for you Billy, as long as you like The Beatles that’s fine by me.

If you're reading this, you are looking for something to do.

While I didn’t buy a Beatles record on this last trip to the record store, I do in fact love the Beatles. I actually just bought out the record store’s diversity of Eagles and Billy Joel albums(except The Bridge, but the copy on the shelf is this slightly pricy one still in the shrink wrap).

I didn’t buy these with money, but I bought them with labour.

Let It Be . (This one’s jacket is in better condition than my other one. I’ll probably give my worse copy to someone. I don’t need two, after all.)

Meet The Beatles. (Again, I already have a copy (2nd variation). The one I got is from 1966 and it’s a 4th variation with an olive-green coloured ‘Beatles’ on it. I’ll probably give it away as well.)

If you’re giving them away, you could give them to me. I’d even pay the shipping costs.

I got 16 records today! I only paid for 3 of them, and then I got the rest for free because today at the record shop there was a rack outside that had a bunch of records that were in ehh condition that the owner was giving away.

So first, the ones I paid for were these two promos that go great with my Tug Of War and Pipes Of Peace albums.

Image Enlarger

These are both 12″ records, but the Say Say Say one is an import, and its at 45 rpm.

Then I got George’s Dark Horse

Before Katy Perry, came George Harrison

Then I got John Lennon ‘s Instant Karma 45 b/w Yoko’s Who Has Seen The Wind? I got this one for free because it was sleeveless(the guy put a sleeve on it after I bought it), there were descent scratches on the “good” side(The John side), and also I bought 3 12″‘s so he gave me a deal.

Image Enlarger

Image Enlarger

I agree, play the John song loud, and the Yoko song soft(very very very soft)

Then from the rack of free records I got

Billy Joel’s The Bridge

The case and the inner sleeve are in really good condition, but the record has a bunch or gunk all over it. However, it doesn’t look like there are many scratches, so hopefully I can give it the Ammonia Free Window Cleaner and Cotton Ball treatment and clean it up nicely

Edit: I was able to clean it up pretty nicely. It played cleanly, however there were a couple of minor skips on side 2.

I got these 3 Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons records for Sister Shears Campbell, since she really loves them.

Then I got some various other records that seemed sorta interesting.

This double album of christian hymns

Image Enlarger

The My Fair Lady Broadway Soundtrack. FSC has the movie soundtrack, so now we have both.

Image Enlarger

This Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polkadot Bikini promo(ehh, it was free)

Image Enlarger

Image Enlarger

This Billy Haley compilation album that has two side 2’s on the same disc and no side 3.

Image Enlarger

Image Enlarger

Image Enlarger

Image Enlarger

Some Boston album. It had the only Boston song I know on it, which is More Than A Feeling

Image Enlarger

Image Enlarger

Then this record…The Ventures New Testament? Its this instrumental cover album of various songs. I only got it because the first thing I saw on it was one of my favorite George songs, which is on side 2. It’s a really nice little album, and I threw(not literally) it into my ATMP box.

a-hard-days-night-ringo-8 You know you’re getting serious when you start getting records because they “look interesting.”

Four yesterday:

Don’t Shoot Me I’m Only The Piano Player – Elton John. (Probably my least favourite Elton John record, but for the sake of completism…)

Best Of The Bee Gees – Bee Gees. (Really nice shape, and it has their Australian single ‘Spicks and Specks’ on it.)

That’s The Way Of The World – Earth Wind & Fire. (Lovely just to sit and groove to.)

Jackson 5 Greatest Hits – Jackson 5. (Freaky record, it’s warped like a RUFFLED POTATO CHIP. But it plays normal, my needle must have good tracking.)

All from Goodwill. 99 cents each.

That’s interesting. I never find any vinyl worth buying at the Goodwill. Usually, I don’t even bother to look at it because it’s so consistently full of stuff nobody wants. That’s interesting that you’ve had better luck.

CDs from the Goodwill are a different story.
