This is a little forum game which is quite fun to play.

The gist is that you pick your favourite out of the two things presented, and then contribute two things of your own.

I'll start with an obvious one (it doesn't have to be Beatles-related): John or Paul?

You all will have read that Dave Dee is no longer with us. But Mickey and Titch and I would like to carry on the good work that's always gone down in number two.

a-hard-days-night-george-2 You picked such a hard one to begin with. At the moment, I'm in Paul frenzy because he's coming to Finland (although I missed the tickets, perhaps I will sneak outside the stadium) and because of his animal activism. I also think he was the nicest guy out of the “fab four”. But still… I have been interested in John for so long, and I like far better his solo career. He was also a friend of Stuart which I must take into consideration as well. And his complex personality is really interesting, although I may not have wanted to know him personally. a-hard-days-night-paul-7 But Paul is so cute. I don't mean just his looks, his gestures, voice, so adorable. But his laughter creeps me out. Paul and John made equally good songs while in Beatles, and I have favorites from both, but Paul is more like a “beatle” to me than Paul. This is going nowhere. I will throw a coin. Ok, John is my favorite.

Yoko, for being John's soul mate and inspiring him to write some proper good songs.

Okay, a non-Beatles one: Antz or A Bug's Life?

You all will have read that Dave Dee is no longer with us. But Mickey and Titch and I would like to carry on the good work that's always gone down in number two.

I think my head just exploded. I physically cannot pick between Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. They're both SO GOOD!!! (and I am such a geeka-hard-days-night-george-10)

I think LOTR wins by a tiny, tiny fraction.

"What happens to them?" insisted Milo.

"Oddly enough, they often grow ten times the size of everyone else," said Alec thoughtfully, "and I’ve heard that they walk among the stars."

Seaglass, we need 'a two things to choose from' from you.

Oh and ive never seen Harry Potter and after 100 pages of the TLOTR and then the first disc of TLOTR deluxe dvd box thing i gave up as i was thoroughly bored. Just not my cup of tea. I really tried, i did.

a-hard-days-night-ringo-8Well, at least you tried. DON'T see Harry Potter, read the books, the movies are far inferior.

Let me see…

dog person or cat person?

I don't care what they like. I like both, cats and dogs. But if it's an obsession… Dog person.

I use neither twitter or facebook not have an account with either, i fail to see the need to use either.

I dont have a record player anymore but there is no doubt in my head that vinyl sounds far much better than digital. There is also an excitement in playing an lp, one i have never forgotten, that is absent in the digital age. And its so much better to have an lp, ep or 45″ in your grasp and you can study the covers and read the linear notes and pour over them for what seems likes no time at all but is actually ages. Every 6 months or so i look at my vinyl collection and its a fantastic time.

There is a reason why vinyl sales are increasing again.

Ok, i'll calm down.heart

You're on an uninhabited island. Would you rather find Revolver or Rubber Soul ? (To listen to it obviously haha)

Revolver , definitely. It has one of my favorite Beatles songs of all time…I'm Only Sleeping, and I think this is when Paul was at his peak in the Beatles. George also breaks out as an amazing songwriter here with Taxman . I am amazed at the number of excellent songs by the entire band on this one LP. Brilliant!!!

If you could own the entire solo discography of John or Paul, no charge, of course, which one would you choose? (I have both official complete discographies, just so you don't think I'm trying to promote by main man Paul, here.)
