The Liverpool library catalog indicates that they have 1950-1956 and 1958-1959 telephone directories (they have other years too, but these are the ones I am interested in). I wonder what happened to their 1957 directory?

Go out and see if any of them are called “Rocky”. I want to know if he stole/took the bible out of the room he stayed in as most people do/did.

Who steals Bibles? Firstly, oh the irony and secondly they are quite heavy to lug around so I can’t see why’d you bother stealing one, just download it onto your phone/tablet/e-reader or whatnot and better yet you won’t be breaking The Seventh Commandment.
AG, I am all for you quizzing them. I’m sure a lot of people only know who the Gideons are because of Rocky Raccoon .

And the thiefs don’t like the bible and want to destroy it but without paying for it to support Bibles so they steal one instead.

No idea but the Gideons expect it. I suppose they’re glad when folk do as then they are being used. Its generally the New Testament and Psalms only so they aren’t that heavy.

Offline ^ As an aside, I used to be a research manager at the Australian Bureau of Statistics. If anyone at a party was bored enough to ask me for a number I used to make it up and they usually assumed it was correct because of my job.
