I was just looking at some past versions of The Beatles Bible on web.archive.org. I don’t really know why I’m posting this here but I find it interesting near the beginning where someone called BrainWashed is in the top posters section and he has 0 posts! I just thought it’s quite interesting and you might want to have a look at it.

I was looking at the thread where Joe’s wife Ellie posted, and was surprised to find two posts, even though she’s listed below as having only posted once! Obviously the first post is numbered zero.

GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.

I didn’t know that. Must be a bug in the software. The numbers only update every hour, I think, so the snapshot might have been taken before it had updated.

The early versions of this site looked pretty awful. I was just starting out and didn’t have a clue about web design (still don’t, really). Still, the Beatles Bible turns five this month! (Can’t remember the date – I’ll find out when the domain comes up for its annual renewal.)

No idea. I get traffic spikes Now And Then . The most visitors I’ve ever had in a day was when it got onto the Reddit front page last year (for the article on the Abbey Road photography session). I got 98,432 visitors in a very short space of time, then the server fell over (I normally get about 20,000 hits a day). It’s possible people might have visited the forum while the site was still online.

(EDIT from a month and a half later – in February 2014 I didn’t search to see if this topic had already been discussed. If I had, I would have found this nice tread. I put this post in the impossible to derail thread. I moved it here after the craziness that ensued on the last day of March 2014 when I led FFE to this post that was in the impossible to derail thread instead of to this thread where the question had been asked and answered.)

I think Joe once explained that that was a glitch in the system, so there has never actually been 527 users on here. That would be good, but I imagine a bit mad if all those people are posting at once.

Considering the spike and the site going down for about 10 minutes due to the amount of visitors on the 50th US anniversary, the site would probably have collapsed if there was 597 guests just on the forum.

Its hard enough keeping up with posts with just 15 folk posting, don’t want to imagine the scenario with 3 off 600.

Yep, that would be a wild ride for about 15 minutes before the crash and burn.

Someone said somewhere else that it was some kind of glitch, there were never actually 597 people.

Ooh, did Joe or somebody confirm that that was the case? The question’s come up before and I speculated that was the most probable explanation…

FYI I moved the ‘Beatles Bible History’ posts to here, and here is where it was first mentioned: https://www.beatlesbible.com/f…..4/#p101795 (I can’t find the very original explanation, either).

(Ahhh Girl’s edit to FFE’s post. Blame me for the link in this post no longer working correctly. I moved the conversation FFE had linked to into this thread. Again, I apologize for causing you this headache.)

Note: everything got messy so this has been edited 845 times since first post.
