It feels incomplete with out it. In a sense you’re ignoring some of the Beatles best and most famous songs.

What is happening? And tell me how you've been.

All songs have their own entries so not sure how any are being ignored.

Us old folks grew up with the actual records, not the manufactured CDs.

Saying that, it was very disappointing buying the 2009 green Apple USB and finding Past Masters on there, instead of the singles & MMT EP in chorological order!

I get what you’re saying but I don’t necessarily agree with you. Side one of Magical Mystery Tour flows better than the 2xEP for example. If you want to hear the singles and the EPs they have box sets that were released in 1992. I’m sure you knew that though.

Yes, but seeing it was all digital then it might have been a nice touch for Apple to do it as it was originally released instead of how it is now configured. Wouldn’t have taken much effort. Not that it bothers me, I didn’t buy it as it was a rip-off not because of how the music was packaged.

The 1992 singles and EP’s a) would not have been remastered and b) expensive to purchase. I got the CD EP box when a kid and loved it; so much joy having 14 little albums to play and look at. I still have it. Would expect a reissue to be issued in a year or two since the singles and albums have now been done. I look forward to the reissue of the reel-to-reel tapes/cassettes with the stupid tracklistings that screwed up the albums.

Whether you think it matters or not Past Masters is part of the core canon, now and that should matter, don’t you think?

What is happening? And tell me how you've been.

Who says it doesn’t? But it matters just as much how the Beatles released the material originally in the UK before it was canonised in 1987.

50 years later? The Sonnets and Poems of William Shakespeare always appear together in his collected works at the end. No thought is given to when he actually wrote them. Think of Past Masters that way. In literary terms you have the novels and then you have the novellas and short storys that are collected in two volumes at the end

What is happening? And tell me how you've been.

So why doesn’t every non-album single and EP have its own subforum?a-hard-days-night-paul-11
