I still have to go through all the studio outtakes and that, but wow, that 12 minute slow burn version of Helter Skelter

I want to get a surround sound system to listen to the surround sound mixes of the albums on these box sets.  The track I'm most interested to hear in 5.1 is Revolution 9 due to its complexity.

I have been waiting for this to drop in price for a few years and finally managed to get a copy for under £85. It arrived this afternoon so I'm looking forward to immersing myself over the next few days.

Well done for getting it at that price range. Have you listened to it yet?

I’d hope so. Might as well use it and make sure it’s not damaged or anything.

This is the best reissue design I've seen from Beatles. Better than holographic Pepper or whatever they did to Abbey Road . The LIB deluxe edition had a wonderful feel to it, so I'd rank that high if not for missing the unreleased opportunity...paul-mccartney-facepalm_gif

The number of songs, discs and booklet size to contain lyrics, photos and the like make the White Album perfect for a special edition release. It’s funny, I listened to the 2009 remaster and somehow enjoyed myself more. I’ve been listening to the new mix for a while.

I've never bothered with the 'LIB ' or 'Revolver ' deluxe sets as they are a complete waste of money considering the cost against how much music you get; 'AR' was the last one I bought physically (book, CD etc and even that was a rip-off). I've also learnt since how much Giles messed up, especially with 'Revolver ', and it's startling and concerning how many errors there are. Wonderful dedicated fans have spent a lot of time and effort fixing all the errors and it's a far more enjoyable listen.

The 2018 deluxe release issued a lot of content - most of it. Frankly, I'd say the biggest unreleased tranches in Beatles are pre-fame, White Album and Get Back sessions. I bootleg downloaded all the Get Back sessions in 2020 and the White Album recordings have been issued in 2018 - I added an 8th disk with  the jams such as Down In Havava and Gone Tomorrow, Here Today . As far as pre-fame tapes go, the Star Club, Hamburg, Decca and a handful of quarrymen/home demos exist, but a good 30 a lost entirely, forever.

I have no problem with the 'White Album ' sets. The 'White' 50th is great as there are five discs, the demos sound great, the outtakes are great to hear with some fixing the missteps on 'Anthology 3 ' and it felt like you getting value for money. As long as people feel like they are getting their money's worth then it's less of an issue when they hear and read of issues with the product but slowly it feels like those have become the opposite by the time of 'Revolver '.
