I have a CD of a bunch of songs John, Paul, and George recorded at George’s home after they came home from Rishikesh. I think it sounds pretty good, and it’s all voices and acoustic guitar. The last two songs, as it says in the notes, were recorded in India–Spiritual Regeneration and Rishikesh No. 9, the latter of which seems to be a bunch of group sing-alongs jumbled together. Anyone else have this?

Yup.  It’s a pretty common bootleg.  It’s also among the best-sounding collection of demos out there.  Just John, Paul & George each individually playing into George’s tape-recorder with the new songs they were working on.  What’s most amazing is how fully realized these songs all were.

E is for 'Ergent'.

Yeah, it’s long been one of my favorite bootlegs. The thing is, as good as it sounds, the versions of the demos on Anthology 3 sound SO MUCH BETTER…they must’ve had George’s original source tape.

I think the copy thats been heavily booted is from Johns archive whereas as DrBeatle said the Anthology came from George’s. The demo’s are wonderful to listen to and should be granted an official release. Instead we’ll get an official cat apron – so your cat doesnt get food all down it when eating or drinking. It’ll play a 30 beatles tune and cost £254. Bargain.

 God knows how many generations John’s tape is…shame they didn’t just release them all from George’s source, it sounds pristine!

Whilst we all wait to see if Apple will release them officially, a substantial upgrade of the demos is circulating for anyone interested.

Please don’t upload the upgrade on this forum nor ask for them to be so, a hunt around the net should give you the rewards.

All I can find is various rebadgings of the 1998 Birthday Records release, which doesn’t have all the songs anyway.

I'm like Necko only I'm a bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin and also everyone. Or is everyone me? Now I'm a confused bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin everyone who is definitely not @Joe.  This has been true for 2016 & 2017 Sig-Badge.png but I may have to get more specific in the future.

Strange as there have been many repackagings and fan collections since. Not the latest upgrade but a quick search brings up Octaner’s blog which has a 2016 remaster of the tracks which can be downloaded, one I haven’t listened to nor knew existed.

Start off with being naughty (and bootlegs are very naughty) and you only get a good spanking, or bad (depends if you’re into that way of enjoyment or not) when caught.
