“But seriously. While The White Album is a great album (5th Favorite Album). i think it has a little too much kooky tracks like Wild Honey Pie, Revolution 9, d anWhy Don’t We Do It In The Road. I still Enjoy the album. i love it to pieces. I Just think it is a little overrated (JUST A LITTLE)”
For me it’s the ‘kooky tracks’ that make it such a great album; the range of music and the experimentation make it so.

The White Album is mostly filler for me, TBH.I couldn’t agree more. I hear people say “oh yeah I love the Beatles my favorite album is the White Album ” but that doesn’t really count as Beatles album, since there was little collaboration as a band involved, and its way too long to hold together as an album. I mean seriously when was the last time you listened to the White Album from beginning to end?
Exactly my feelings about this album. George Martin got it about right when he said that it would make a good single album.

Either SPLHCB , White Album , or Revolver are their most overrated albums. I get the love for these albums, but ever since I’ve heard about The Beatles, lots of people have been basically shoving The White Album and SPLHCB down my throat. Revolver , not as much, but still generally overrated

Revolver ? NEVER!!!!!
I’d say Sgt. Pepper and White Album . Abbey Road is kinda overrated too, but it’s suitably brilliant so I don’t mind.

That’s an easy one for me to answer. ‘Abbey Road ‘. Yes, it has some undeniably great songs on it. And it flows really well. But the songs themselves, outside of George’s two outstanding contributions and John’s “Come Together “, do not seem particularly substantial in comparison to previous Beatles albums. And the production itself feels overly slick to me. I find that listening to the album is sort of comparable to having a rich dessert — enjoyable and rather fun at the moment, but not particularly memorable afterwards. I also don’t like the fact that it seems to be giving the false impression that the band was as alive and as much of a creative force for the future as always, when in fact they were crumbling inside. While all Beatles albums are great, I don’t feel that ‘Abbey Road ‘ has anywhere near the coherence and brilliance of ‘Rubber Soul ‘, ‘Revolver ‘, ‘Sgt. Pepper ‘ or the ‘White Album ‘. Nor is it as good as ‘A Hard Day’s Night ‘ or ‘Help !’, for that matter.

I listen to the ‘White Album ‘ from beginning to end all the time, more so than any other Beatles album. The wide range of musical styles and emotions are what keep it fresh and interesting. It’s fantastic.
The other day, I was trying to come up with a list of my ten all-time favorite rock albums. I allowed myself three rules to follow: one album per artist; no greatest hits compilations; no live albums. Here were the results, in order of preference:
1) The Beatles’ ‘White Album ‘
2) Springsteen’s ‘Born to Run’
3) Dylan’s ‘Highway 61 Revisited’
4) The Who’s ‘Who’s Next’
5) The Stones’ ‘Let It Bleed’
6) The Sex Pistols’ ‘Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols’
7) The Beach Boys ‘ ‘Pet Sounds’
8) Derek and the Dominos’ ‘Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs’
9) Van Morrison’s ‘Astral Weeks’
10) Love’s ‘Forever Changes’

How do you overrate a Beatles album? I can’t figure that one out. And I’ve rarely listened to the albums from beginning to end anyway, partly because I never began listening to the Beatles via their albums. Perhaps MMT and Let It Be are the only slumps, but most people wouldn’t overrate them as albums anyway.

Now I'm a confused bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin everyone who is definitely not @Joe. This has been true for 2016 & 2017 but I may have to get more specific in the future.

‘MMT’ as it is now considered a bona fide Beatles album. I don’t think the album flows well at all and many of the songs are average with only ‘Strawberry Fields’ and ‘I Am The Walrus ‘ being awesome. After that ‘Baby You’re A Rich Man ‘ and ‘The Fool On The Hill ‘ only do I ever consistently enjoy.

ummm… then maybe i’d say “Rubber Soul ” … i like it , and it has great tracks in it, but it also has a good bunch of fillers and i think they really got their highest peak on their next album…

Abbey Road . George had the 2 best songs on the album and Lennon had a strong opening, but most of the rest of it was just Paul’s inertia.

When I think about it, the most overrated Beatles album has to be Abbey Road , no doubt. So many people worship it as the best album in music history, for me it ranks 5th or 6th of all the Beatles albums. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great album, but I don’t think it’s better than some of their other works. I like or love almost all of the eight “full” Songs (not too fond of Because ), and I like the Medley, but don’t understand the worship the latter gets sometimes. The last three tracks are awesome, how they flow into each other and build up to The End (wich is a great end). But the songs/song fragments before Golden Slumbers are nothing special to me. They’re not bad (except maybe for Sun King ), ’cause almost no Beatles songs are bad, but I believe if tunes like Mean Mr Mustard or She Came In Through The Bathroom Window were on the White Album , people would consider them to be fillers (Vice versa: If Why Don’t We Do It In The Road was part of the Medley, People wouldn’t hate it so much, but rather adore it).
Again, I really like the album, but it’s not my favourite and I can’t see the ingenuity of the Medley.
As for the most underrated album, I have to go with Magical Mystery Tour . Despite being compiled mostly by record executives rather than by the Beatles themselves, it works excellently as a fine album. The interplay between pop and psychedelia feels coherent, it has three of my very favourite songs on it and not a single weak spot (you know it’s a damn good album if your least favourite song on it is All You Need Is Love ). It could have been even better as a fourteen track album, perhaps with some of the stuff that ended up being on Yellow Submarine , but I still kile it the way it is.

Their most overrated album has to be Yellow Submarine , this should’ve been a 5 song EP, recycling Yellow Submarine from Revolver and having an entire side dedicated to George Martin’s orchestra was unnecessary.
The most underrated Beatles album is Beatles For Sale , I love the acoustic feel of this album.
