Just saw this great recently uploaded playlist of Sgt Pepper songs with Star Wars inspired lyrics. I just watched the whole set of videos (13 tracks) and they are pure genius.
Each video should follow on but the whole playlist is here https://www.youtube.com/user/P.....nja/videos

Now I'm a confused bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin everyone who is definitely not @Joe. This has been true for 2016 & 2017 but I may have to get more specific in the future.

Interestingly enough, I've long considered "Star Wars" to be the "Sgt. Pepper " of movies (or vice versa), because they were both practically unparalleled technical achievements when they were unleashed upon the world. In particular, the way the Pepper tracks were constructed by continual recording and bouncing down individual audio tracks seems like the equivalent of "Star Wars"'s combination of multiple film elements via bluescreen. And of course both achieved immense popularity and seemed like twin peaks of popular culture - "Star Wars" as the most popular film ever (by box-office receipts), "Pepper" as *Greatest Album Ever* (by multiple polls, for many years, until it wasn't.) Even the fact that they were released almost exactly a decade apart seems significant.

Finally got a chance to listen to this! I love it. It's a neat little project. It's definitely worth a listen if you haven't heard it yet.

Oh you turned it off just as it was getting good. You have to give it a bit more time. I'm not particularly a Star Wars fan but I loved it.
PS That film is the only episode I really know and I saw the original premiere in London in 1977 (so to me it's part 1).

How old were you at the time. If I had to guess, I'd guess around 7-14, due to the fact that most BBers were either born while The Beatles were around and popular or after Anthology, the most notable exceptions being SaxonMothersSon (1950), Joe (1976), meanmistermustard (est. 1981), and Necko (1992).
If you're reading this, you are looking for something to do.

I was about eleven.
EDIT: Actually I just realised the London premiere was 40 years ago this week.

It's funny because Phil Spector's orchestration on Across The Universe , I Me Mine , and especially The Long And Winding Road remind me of the Star Wars special edition from 1997 although unlike the original version of Star Wars, you don't need obsolete technology to listen to official versions of those 3 songs without the orchestra.

Slightly off-topic but here is an interview where Mark Hamill discusses how his love of the Beatles helped him understand the influence of Star Wars on the fans. He also selects a Beatles song to play and never would I have ever guessed it correctly.

Um, that link goes to Dark Overlord's previous post... Are you sure that's the right link?
No idea what happened there, obviously not the correct link.
Have amended the link so you now head to the interview.
