I feel like this album has the Imagine effect.  Like the song Imagine , this album is really good, but it is sometimes overdone which causes it to become a bit annoying.

In no way shape or form is the song Imagine overrated or overdone. If anything it seems to be a low ebb of popularity right now.

I think ‘Imagine ’ got to the point of having the feeling of being forced down people’s throats. One as the greatest thing every done by John and being to idealise him as such a person (I’m not a believer it is his best song) and another being used as a brand for all kinds of stuff including ice cream. The impact is lost.

I just find the Imagine hype annoying at times, as if that’s his only song, and mostly how it pigeonholes John as a person. He was way more complex and those Imagine fans probably don’t even know that, or as much as they should. It’s one song among a sea of other great songs.

Not wanting to start an argument but don’t pigeonhole anyone who loves Imagine as a neophyte.

When he was assassinated for certain. At certain points since then, I’ll agree as well. Is it his best song? No, but I’d say it’s in his top 5. Plus, it’s a beautiful message.  Any other thing you can add is superfluous.
