My current favorite off that album is “I’ve Just Seen A Face .”HELP! We’ve got someone who’s listening to Capitol’s butcher!
That’s like saying Yoko One is your favourite Beatle….
It flows better than the UK version.
We shall agree to disagree– eh?
I just think it’s wrong that Capitol Records tampered with the Beatles’ records like that. grrrrrr

You Won’t See Me is up there, though. I could write volumes on how thrilling it is, how the energy that begins with the opening cymbal-crash bursts into your face and doesn’t let up for three long, glorious minutes. So it infuriates me when people (*elbows @ewe2*) put it at 13 and say whot a drag it is.
and the ones I love are
I think I may have identified (for me) why I think that song has problems. Either the bassline or the drum rhythm is wrong, to my ears they’re competing. If you take the rhythm of the bassline away what you have is a pretty straightforward RnB tune. I think it’s a pretty bassline (and a good workout for the fingers, believe me), but its rhythm in the verses is unvarying and drags against the rhythm of the song.
I'm like Necko only I'm a bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin and also everyone. Or is everyone me? Now I'm a confused bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin everyone who is definitely not @Joe. This has been true for 2016 & 2017 but I may have to get more specific in the future.

Nowhere Man .
The guitar just sounds too good. Great lyric from John, too. It tackled the whole loneliness and societal disillusionment thing before it was hip to do so.

As always – Nowhere Man .
Though I’m starting to feel I might be getting somewhere.

I remember being in a tough relationship (at fourteen. I know, I know, but let me point out that I always treated them quite seriously) and then Girl just clicked into my mind.
“Was she told when she was young that pain would lead to pleasure?
Did she understand it when they said
That a man must break his back to earn his day of leisure?
Will she still believe it when he’s dead?”
Still have chills down my spine, but that’s the case with many Beatle lyrics.
However…
The one most appealing to me is, somehow, I’m Looking Through You . And, curiously enough, not for the lyrics. I remember being around two years old, not a word in English in my lexicon, and getting this odd, alluring feeling whenever my parents played the Rubber Soul . Whenever I’m Looking Through You was on, I would drop whatever I was doing and immerse.
Now, a little disclaimer… While it seems weird enough to assume I remember being two years old, I know for a fact that my head holds a huge load of such memories, including verbatim quotes and rough descriptions of people I knew when I was a toddler I also described the interior of my stroller to my parents once. Accurately. And I wasn’t even using it for too long
So, I have the Beatles routing my neural activities since forever it would seem

Nowhere Man is hard to beat.
I love the song, “In My Life “. It was actually one of the songs that originally brought me into The Beatles, and it remains to be my favourite song ever. I also enjoy Nowhere Man , Michelle and I’m Looking Through You .

Definitely Nowhere Man . . . the three-way harmony is just too gorgeous to ignore and the soaring vocals are amazing (as always). I can’t stop singing along to all of the “sha-la-la’s”.
In My Life is really close. I love the subject matter for both of these songs incredibly much. John just really really shines on this album.

Three of my favourites there, though I think I have heard Michelle too many times to have it on my list nowadays.

By just thinking about what my favourite song on Rubber Soul would be, has made me come to appreciate the album even more because I realised that there are so many great songs on there.
I really cannot pick one favourite, but these are some really great songs:

Girl for me
Love most of this album, though.
While I’ve never had a relationship like the one in this song, something about the “Ahh girl tsssss” (kinda hard to find think of the onomatopoeia of that last sound) captures such a real feeling that I can’t help but love it.

@Tuesday, as you may have guessed, this is the song that inspired my forum name. I love that sound John makes in the song, but I figured “John sucks” wouldn’t be a good screen name for a Beatles forum

Stuck between the best song off Rubber Soul being between Girl or Norwegian Wood . Both are melodically/lyrically amazing. However, I think I would go with Girl just because of how well it shows off John’s voice and what he could do with it. The lyrics “She was told when she was young that pain would lead to pleasure” and “That a man must break his back to earn his day of leisure, will she still believe it when he’s dead..” I read somewhere that these few lines symbolized John’s feelings towards Catholicism, how they teach that you must work to get to heaven. If this is true, it shows how spiritual and deep thinking John really was. (Not on the same level as George, but appeared it through the whole bed-in and Give Peace A Chance .)
All in all, my favorite song off Rubber Soul is Girl.
