Just chiming in later than necessary to go along with both count-ins being George. He overdubbed the first one, evidently while they were screwing around or something. I really don’t know where the nonsense that it was Paul originated from.

Well, personally I got it from my own ears. Which were WRONG! Until I heard the multitrack.
Maybe I kinda had this years-long mental picture of them recording it and couldn’t imagine George recording both parts himself – especially at the same time! – and mentally placed Paul as the other voice since it was so obviously George’s doing the overdub. And then mentally reinforced the logic since it’s Paul who plays the first note of music, so why wouldn’t he be the one to do the initial count himself?
GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.

I can definitely relate to the assumption of it being Paul; it’s just that I see a lot of ‘credible’ articles or Beatles historians or the like reiterate ‘Paul’s iconic count-in’ or something to that effect. I think when I first heard it as George I tried proving it on another thread on this forum..

I was wondering about the count in the other day actually while listening to Revolver ,because I’d heard that Paul did it, but damn,it sure sounds like George. It must be George surely??
