I would have replaced ‘Good Day Sunshine ‘ and ‘I Want To Tell You ‘ with ‘Paperback Writer ‘ and ‘Rain .’  And no order change.  I think that would have made Revolver very nearly perfect.  George would still have his customary 2 tracks while Paul’s count would remain the same and Lennon would get an extra song.

What do you all think?  I’m curious.  (Oh, I’d leave Yellow Submarine in.  It’s good comic relief, a nice light moment.)

As it is, Revolver is still my fave Beatles album.  With Rubber Soul a real close second.

If I were stranded on a deserted island and could only bring one album with me, it would be Revolver.

I just hope that I would have some means of playing it.  Ha ha!

My perfect Revolver tracklist is the way it is but I will tell you that my perfect Revolver listening experience is listening to Rubber Soul and Revolver back to back. It makes for a really great listen.

They’re a really strong one-two punch. Two 14 track albums released one right after the other, being a bridge between the early and late Beatles periods. Variety, experimentation and pop songcraft.  Love them both so much.

Very true. I will sometimes include the singles from the time so I will start with Day Tripper /We Can Work It Out , Rubber Soul , Paperback Writer /Rain , and then Revolver . Now that’s an experience.

Absolutely, that makes everything even better. I love how it’s two bonus songs for each album, making it 16 songs apiece.

What really would’ve made a case for the Capitol one, for example, having a more worthwhile and unique reputation in the world (in addition to; resulting in John getting at least another song on it, by default), would’ve been: including a fake stereo mix of RAIN in place of (no irony intended) Good Day Sunshine .

Since there was no stereo mix of Rain made until December 1969, it would’ve had to have been given the Duophonic treatment if Bill Miller (the guy that replaced Dave Dexter’s role in “preparing” the U.S. albums) had done things differently.

I will play the game Existence to the End ;)

I think the current track run-down for the “Revolver ” album is perfectly fine the way it is. As with the idea of replacing two tracks with “Paperback Writer ” and “Rain “, I don’t think that should be the case, as I am not fond of artists placing already popular and released singles on their albums. As it is, the Beatles are well known for their maximum value for money when it comes to LP’s.

We do a little trolling

I’d rather they used Paperback Writer , Rain , and I’m Down instead of the 3 Revolver tracks on Yesterday And Today and released Revolver as is. This way, they would’ve gotten true stereo mixes for those songs (as they did with We Can Work It Out /Day Tripper ) instead of a Duophonic mix.

If you're reading this, you are looking for something to do.

Nastalgia makes changing this album feel like a sin.  I think if any Beatles album needs to be reworked, it’s not this one.  This is one of their strongest albums in my opinion.

Well for the UK release, I’d replace “Got To Get You Into My Life ” with “Rain “… I’ve never liked GTGYIML, but always loved “Rain “…. and it would fit Revolver just perfectly for me!

That slightly downbeat, yet psychedelic sound goes so well with the Revolver vibe….
