1. I’m Only Sleeping – This song has grown on me so much. One of their most modern songs, it could have been released in any decade since and sounded just as cool.
That’s such a gear description. I completely agree, it doesn’t sound particularity sixties, it just sounds good.
It’s perfection. That’s the only way I can think to describe it. There is absolutely nothing about it I would ever dream of changing because it’s p e r f e c t
Love one another.

It wouldn’t be out of place on the coolest album of the day in basically any period except maybe 1986 or something Definitely would fit in with the bedroom pop acts of today like Rex Orange County and Clairo, or the alt rock bands of the 90s like Radiohead and Smashing Pumpkins.
So basically, the definition of timeless.

Honestly this is the most difficult Beatles album to rank. My top 5 are almost tied. The songs are all so beautiful.

I agree. My top 8 are basically tied. Revolver is just such a cool album and it’s impossible not to like. Also, I really don’t know why John called And Your Bird Can Sing a ‘throwaway’. It’s amazing.

For a two minute song it has so much going on, and it has been played so much by me. Those two minutes have gone a very long way. Lots of energy and poignancy.

I agree about And Your Bird Can Sing . Those harmonised lead guitar parts proved pretty prophetic too, given how many rock, metal and prog bands have done similar things since.

I would say Good Day Sunshine is a bad song, but it’s just my personal preference.

Agreed. It’s loved and called their best album by so many fans for a reason.

I wouldn’t call it a bad song, but it isn’t amazing either. I’d much rather have had Rain in its place.

I’ve never thought Good Day Sunshine was bad, it’s musically and lyrically very specific and serves a purpose — that of a lighthearted sunny afternoon* — I feel like it’s one of the key songs on the album, mood-wise.
