1. Eleanor Rigby . Strings without resonance, cold and stark lyrics. Paul at his absolute peak. More revolutionary than TNK.2. I’m Only Sleeping . Dreamy, hazy, and surreal. The backwards guitar is not only cutting edge but one of the most satisfying sounds on the album.
3. Tomorrow Never Knows . A Lennon opus that sounds as progressive and avante guarde as it sounded in 1966.For No One . Heartbreaking lyrics on top of a moving French horn solo. A clavichord thrown in to seal this experimental chamber orchestra as pure genius.
4. For No One . Heartbreaking lyrics on top of a French horn solo, with a clavichord to turn this chamber orchestra piece into pure genius.
5. Here, There, and Everywhere. Only McCartney can make something so simple yet so mature. Astounding.
6. Got To Get You Into My Life . Paul was becoming the Beatles foremost songwriter
7. Taxman . As searing and brutal a guitar solo you could ever hear.
8. Love You To . Simply stunning composition.
9.She Said She Said . Lennon alone with Harrison on the previous track are inventing acid rock. And Your Bird Can Sing . An epic guitar melody with electric harmonies and unique timbres.
10. And Your Bird Can Sing . A fantastic guitar melody with electric harmonies and unique timbres.
11. Yellow Submarine . Fits astoundingly well in this eclectic group of songs.
12. Good Day Sunshine . One of Paul’s best piano hooks.
13. Doctor Robert . Another great guitar track by Lennon. With a harmonium underlying intricate harmony.
14. I Want To Tell You . Great lyrics. Just not on the same level as the other tracks.
A bit of an older post but i was just browsing through this thread when I noticed that you wrote nearly the same thing for TNK as FNO. Made me chuckle as I had been wondering what about TMK’s lyrics made them heartbreaking.

14. Good Day Sunshine – Probably the worst song Paul McCartney has ever written in my opinion.
13. Yellow Submarine – Classic song that everyone has at least heard of. It is very childish though and I’ve heard it a billion times.
12. Eleanor Rigby – Amazing song but I can barely stand to listen to it now because I’ve heard it so many times. A first time listener is in for a treat, though.
11. Doctor Robert – Good song but there’s not much to it.
10. Taxman – Wonderful song with a great guitar solo but I’ve, once again, heard it so many times.
9. For No One – Beautiful song but I prefer the following songs.
8. Love You To – The first of the trio of Indian songs George wrote is wonderful and very different from anything else on this album.
7. Here, There, and Everywhere – Once again, beautiful song by Paul.
6. And Your Bird Can Sing – Great song. Nothing much to say. Strange lyrics.
5. Got To Get You Into My Life – Absolutely great song. Some of Paul’s best work
4. I Want To Tell You – This is the last song I heard on this album so it’s fresh to me. That’s probably why it’s so high up, because it’s so fresh and I love it. Great guitar riff, and George is my favorite.
3. I’m Only Sleeping – Such an amazing song. Very interesting, too.
2. Tomorrow Never Knows – Holy s**t. This song is… well… I don’t know. It’s some of the best studio work ever produced by a band because it’s so in your face with strange noises, and, unlike a lot of songs that have strange noises that overall just sound like stupid crap, this song actually works. It’s wonderful.
1. She Said She Said – I’m a rocker. And boy do I love this song. So strange, yet so simple. Love everything about it.

6 Doctor Robert .
7 Tomorrow Never Knows .
8 And Your Bird Can Sing .
9 Tax Man.
10 Got To Get You Into My Life .
11 For No One .
12 Here, There, and Everywhere.
13 Love You To .
14 I Want To Tell You .

This is going to be hard but here goes nothing
1. Tomorrow Never Knows – A Mindfuck, the tape loops, the Indian drone. The drums, bass, guitar. This track doesn’t sound like it was made by humans, it sounds cosmic. Probably my favourite Beatles song
2. For No One – Such a gorgeous but haunting song about break up angled in a honest and realistic way. One of my favourite songs of all time. That Clavichord harmony is just so good it should be illegal
3. Eleanor Rigby – Fantastic Baroque composition mixed with rock elements. Just listen to the staccato and harsh playing technique applied by the strings. Lyrics are depressing but brilliant.
4. Here, There And Everywhere – The antithesis of For No One but brilliant in its own right. The complex guitar chords with the vocal harmonies and Paul’s melody makes for one of the best love songs.
5. She Said She Said – The drums, guitar bass, vocals, do I need to explain?
6. Taxman – Pissed off tax payers make for great music. That solo is the bane of my existence.
7. Love You To – The first foray into Raga Rock and it goes over pretty well. Every sitar pharse tells a story in it of itself. The whole arrangement is beautiful as well as menancing. Some of George’s best lyrics
8. And Your Bird Can Sing – That guitar riff has saved million of lives I assure you. Paul’s bass compliments the track so well. Awesome track
9. I’m Only Sleeping – Backwards guitar phrases really enhance the sleepy vibe of the song. Who knew laziness could make such great music. I love when John says “Paul yawn” he actually does. That just makes the track for me I don’t know why
10. Got To Get You Into My Life – Continuting the Motown soul theme from Drive My Car we have another fantastic song with great horn arrangements and McCartney obsessing over pot. Who could ask for more?
11. I Want To Tell You – I actually think the dissonance in this song makes it so much better. Really highlights the confusion in the lyrics. Some awesome fills by Ringo, Quite underrated
12. Doctor Robert – Crunchy guitar riff with The Beatles flat out stateing they take drugs. That bridge is one of my favourite Beatle moments. Again underrated but 11-14 on my list are so hard to rank because I feel Beatles fans don’t give them enough credit and I hate to put them at the bottom of the list
13. Yellow Submarine – Awesome sing a long song with psychedelic effects. This song is the antithesis to Tomorrow Never Knows using effects to invoke joy rather than fear or anger
14. Good Day Sunshine – I love the dynamics of this song which explode in the chorus and are quiet in the verses. Sure this song isn’t Tomorrow Never Knows but it’s not trying to be. It’s a sunny pop song and it is well written. The outro is another awesome Beatles moment.

Loved your descriptions of the songs, @mcsugalumps !
I’m sure I’ve attempted this before, but I may as well give it another go.
14. Good Day Sunshine – Not a bad song, just not very interesting either. I like the solo, though.
13. Doctor Robert – More interesting when you know what it’s about, but not especially interesting musically.
12. Yellow Submarine – Great piece of storytelling, with cool sound effects, but not something I’d ever seek out unless I’m playing through the album.
11. Taxman – Awesome solo and bass line but for me this song never really takes off. I think I would have preferred it if it was played faster.
10. I Want To Tell You – Great use of dissonance, and cool riff, but not hugely memorable.
9. Love You To – I used to find this one grating but I have come to appreciate how badass the sitar on it sounds.
8. Got To Get You Into My Life – Dig the Motown vibes here, a worthy sequel to Drive My Car .
7. And Your Bird Can Sing – The guitars are just stunning. It sounds like spring.
6. Here There And Everywhere – Gorgeous, almost spiritual love song, gives me a similar feeling to God Only Knows.
5. Eleanor Rigby – The perfect intersection of pop and art. The story really creeps me out in the best way possible.
4. For No One – So honest that it’s painful, and the understated music is really nice too.
3. Tomorrow Never Knows – One of the most prophetic songs of all time, this was a true milestone that paved the way for everything from hip hop to psychedelic rock.
2. She Said She Said – I’m not such a big fan of the bit where the time signature changes, since it makes the song lose its momentum a bit, but the main verses just have this amazing quality to them. John’s voice just sounds so clear and soaring in front of the swirling guitars.
1. I’m Only Sleeping – This song has grown on me so much. One of their most modern songs, it could have been released in any decade since and sounded just as cool.
