And Your Bird Can Sing ! I guess no one else feels that way… The first time I heard it I was ecstatic. every time I hear it I'm ecstatic.

Revolver 's for sure my fave album of all time. I can't stop listening to She Said, She Said right now. and For No One .

Same here! I love listening to this song on a sunny day.a-hard-days-night-john-6

Actually, I like listening to this one at night.
For me, Rubber Soul is a morning album and Revolver and The Beatles are nighttime albums.

For Golden Slumbers ? 🙂 I remember listening to bits of the White Album before I went to sleep (not actually sleep *to* it, because it was on a tape.) But it had such great, mellow songs on there, Cry Baby Cry , Long, Long, Long , Blackbird , Julia , I Will , Mother Nature's Son. I could go on.

Oddly enough, my tape, copied from my dad's copied from an actual record did not include Good Night .

I also had a tape that my Dad had recorded. It was the American version of Revolver , so it didn't have “Doctor Robert “, “I'm Only Sleeping” or “And Your Bird Can Sing “. Poor Dad was missing out!

Yeah, I want to get revolver on Vinyl, but the only one I can find within my price range is the American release.  Which is missing, in my opinion, 2 of revolvers best songs.

I'm not sure, but I would bet it was on one of the “other” Beatles recordings, like Beatles VI or something like that. My dad didn't have Good Night on there probably due to space constraints. I certainly felt like I was missing out when I realized that the tapes I had bought of Revolver and Rubber Soul were for some odd reason the Capitol versions, while the CDs were the Parlophone (and much better) versions.

I could go on with how illogical I found this as a 12 year old (and even now) but I don't want to derail the thread. a-hard-days-night-ringo-6

Revolver is, I think everyone can agree, an AMAZING album. But my question for you is, Which of these amazing songs is your favorite? My favorite would probably have to be either Eleanor Rigby or Got To Get You Into My Life . Or maybe And Your Bird Can Sing . Nope, I’m Only Sleeping is it. Actually… Ok, I’m going to stop right there. Even though I can’t pick a fave, maybe you can… a-hard-days-night-george-10 ENJOY!!!!

Wow, this is a tough one…I think I’m gonna have to go with “And Your Bird Can Sing ” tho. I think it’s so mind-boggling how The Beatles could take a “throw-away song” and transform it into such a catchy, philosophical tune. Great guitar work, fantastic vocal work/harmonies, and excellent energy. In short, I love this song!

Second place? “Tomorrow Never Knows “! Not that second place matters…a-hard-days-night-paul-11

Probably best to go by singer for John, Paul and George.

From Paul’s offerings Here, There & Everythere. The glorious harmonies by George and John, the lyrics are exceptional, love the little guitar licks, and Paul sings it perfectly, closely followed by For No One .

George’s would be I Want To Tell You . Love You To has an amazing intro, one of the best for how it starts and stops then finally picks up speed and just rushes thru but there has always been something about IWTTY which i have loved since first play.

For John, wow where to start. And Your Bird Can Sing with the guitars and vocals, She Said She Said  is quite extraordinary and unique, but at a push Tomorrow Never Knows . Right from the start with drums and then the tape loops, words cannot sum up how ahead of its time it was and even now bands are building their sound based on trying to replicate parts of whats in there. Even Take 1 on Anthology is stunning, not as good tho.

14-Yellow Submarine
13-Tomorrow Never Knows
12-She Said She Said
11-Dr. Robert
10-I’m Only Sleeping
9-Eleanor Rigby
8-I Want To Tell You
7-Love You To
6-Got To Get You Into My Life (the first amazing song of the album)
5-Taxman
4-Good Day Sunshine
3-And Your Bird Can Sing (definitely one of john’s best songs, he sings the verses quite good, but I think Paul could have sung the chorus better)
2-Here There And Everywhere
1-For No One (the best song of the album for me)

I’m not a very big fan of Revolver I like the songs I rankes from 1-6 very much but the other 8 songs….. I don’t like one of them very much. So I would call revolver the beatles’ 5th best album

1. Abbey Road
2. White Album
3. Let It Be … Naked (sorry I have to take Naked)
4. Rubber Soul
5. Revolver

Is She Said, She Said the only Beatles song in their entire catalogue that features John, George and Ringo without Paul? I cannot think of another but there may be. Maybe Across The Universe if Pauls playing was wiped and not just buried?

Paul plays piano of the past/mono masters and the let it be versions of Across The Universe , it’s clearly audible in the outro, i think he doesn’t play on the naked version and I know if he plays on the anthology version, but the first two version are often called the official vrsions and on both paul is audible

You might have, long John. I didn’t check if someone had already done it.

No no, I’ve meant this topic you made. I probably thought I answered it so I closed it (as I open a lot of tabs so it can confuse you sometimes :) .

She Said She Said ” is the only all-but-Paul recording, yeah. And it’s my choice for favourite song (at least today, since “Tomorrow Never Knows ” or “Here There & Everywhere” or “And Your Bird Can Sing ” could take it on any other day). Those unique John/George harmonies, Ringo’s crazy drum fills, the nostalgic longing John puts into the “When I was a boy…”, that nagging just-barely-audible organ, those GUITARS, man…

GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.
