George’s first recorded venture into proper Indian-style composition, yes, but not his first recorded venture with the sitar. He played it on Norwegian Wood .
Ooh you’re totally correct, slipped my mind even though it’s one of my favorites! I guess I mean to say his continuation of using the Sitar.

I came on here to post my favourite and then reading through the posts realised…I can’t pick a favourite. I was going to say Here There And Everywhere . Then I remembered She Said She Said , then I remembered Tomorrow Never Knows . Then I remembered…..
It’s impossible

Maybe For No One . It’s poignant. Personal reasons. The Gods decided that I would look at the woman I loved in the eye and see nothing. And it has a perfect structure, the chords follow one another smoothly, the descending bass-line is simple but works, the middle part is dramatic, the horn solo is sad and beautiful.

Here, There And Everywhere , Dr. Robert and I’m Only Sleeping stand out because of the awesome harmonies.
“Float up stream” is one of my favorite moments of the catalog.
when I listen to the album however, I realize there is no such thing as a favorite song on Revolver .

The guitar riffs in And Your Bird Can Sing are hypnotic (as well as frustrating for a novice guitarist). It just slays me that John thought this song to be rubbish. I put it in my personal top 10 Underrated Beatles tunes.

I heard a friend say his least favorite was Dr. Robert, so I’ll say that’s my favorite to compensate. (I’m Only Sleeping is probably my real favorite).

I’m Only Sleeping is my favourite. It has wonderful lyrics and gear backwards guitar parts. It’s one of my favourite songs, period. Especially the bridge, it’s just… amazing.

Being one that usually prefers John’s songs, I gotta go with ‘Got To Get You Into My Life ‘… very difficult for me when ‘Tomorrow Never Knows ‘ & ‘I’m Only Sleeping ‘ are in the running… but ‘Got To Get You Into My Life ‘ is the one that ultimately lights the pathway for the Magical Year of 1967 that was to soon follow… yes, John’s more experimental direction pointed towards ‘Strawberry Fields Forever ‘ & ‘I Am The Walrus ‘, but ‘Got To Get You Into My Life ‘ was ‘Sgt. Pepper ‘ before ‘Sgt. Pepper ‘… Riveting Vocals from Paul, backed by some of the meatiest brass ever… love how the trumpets are doubled up for the last coda, it even hints at ‘Hey Jude ‘ in the musical crescendo/orgasm department… the droning guitars that really take off towards the end are off the planet… ‘It’s Getting Better ‘, ‘Sgt. Pepper ‘s Lonely Hearts Club Band’, ‘Penny Lane ‘, among others, all branch out from this timeless ‘Revolver ‘ classic… it even garnered much interest during the ‘Sensational 1970’s where I believe that it was re-issued as a single, not to mention Earth, Wind & Fire’s outstanding cover version…:-)

This is so damn hard. Song for song, Revolver is up there with Abbey Road .
At the moment I’m feeling rather partial to She Said She Said with its swirling guitars, underrated drum performance and soaring vocal from John. I’m not as fond of the second section (“no, no no you’re wrong – when I was a boy”) as I feel it loses momentum slightly but it doesn’t detract from the whole experience much.
Then there’s For No One . Perhaps a sequel to Yesterday with a gorgeous melody, some of Paul’s best lyrics and a beautiful solo. Here There And Everywhere is also fantastic.
Tomorrow Never Knows and Eleanor Rigby stand out as the most out there and experimental of the lot, yet they are harder to love as much as they are to appreciate.
I've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

I like it too. Has anyone ever heard the Jam’s cover of it? It’s really good
