I tend to think they will go after a vinyl length for these, roughly 45 minutes, which gives plenty of room on the Red to play with, but none on the Blue as that already clocks in at 90 minutes.
If it’s true they’re adding the b-sides as widely rumoured, the only way it could be done would be to have a 45-ish minute third disc rather than it being an EP with just the Threetles tracks on it.
Easy to expand it to three — the missing single b-sides, the Threetles tracks, Hey Bulldog has gone up in esteemation since 73, maybe Dear Prudence , Blackbird and Helter Skelter from the White, maybe even the last three tracks from the AR medley as Paul’s been using them to close concerts for decades, making it the most well-known part of the medley.
There are plenty of possible additions that would take it up to 3 45 minute discs, and the only way it works if the b-sides are being added.

What I was trying to say, just not very well, was they could go with the expanded with b-sides+ five disc rejiggered ’62 – 70′ super deluxe with the six disc the EP and keep the original albums as is only remixed, but maybe the timings don’t work. Apple love their super deluxe and they haven’t tended to mess with the originals (tho admittedly this is the first set of compilations since they started).
If the three disc expanded sets for each were the standard releases where do Apple get the super deluxes from, and I presume the 50th anniversaries will be the stated reason for doing this. I’m generally very wrong. I’m more trying to shove this into the same format Apple have been mostly following, and I really am not thrilled with the reunion tracks following immediately on as regardless of whatever arguments we could start on their existence and value they are nowhere near as good as the others. Quite clearly and for obvious reasons ‘FAAB’, ‘RL’ and ‘NAT’ sound very different to the 1962 -> 1970 material. That’s my personal opinion. I know other people think they are fully Beatles and equally deserving of being here. It’s quite OK to disagree.
On a side note. Although the line-ups stayed identical, Apple have already banded together the ‘Red’ and ‘Blue’ ‘1962 – 1970‘ for a united release.

The last thing I would have in mind is that these releases wil be anything like the approach they have used for the studio albums.
Are you suggesting that the standard set will be a two or three disc filleting of your imagined five disc set, with Now And Then tagged on the end?
It doesn’t make sense that they would cut two sets to sell separately to just one along with a boxset.
I think the expensive set will just be the Red and Blue packaged together, possibly with a hi-res Blu-ray added, along with a book, and maybe prints of the album cover and gatefold photographs.

With the song registration for Now And Then in place, I think there’s every chance the announcement could come by the end of the coming week.

Well, with George rereleasing 10 of his long unavailable solo albums on 8 September on vinyl (with 5 of them also coming out on CD), alongside Ringo’s new EP — which features contributions from Paul including a new song from him — on the 13th, I think we now have the explanation for why things have gone quiet on the Red/Blue front.
A release for them nearer the Christmas market, being the obvious big seller of the bunch, as well as being the big Beatles release of the year, a late October/early November release does make sense — with the announcement coming around 4 weeks beforehand.

Has this release gone off to join all the ‘LIB ‘ reissues? Tons of rumours at the time with talk of soon to be confirmed yet instead it’s all gone quiet.

I was about to ask the same question. Nothing has been heard from a release.

On a side note, I always wondered what “Old Brown Shoe ” was doing on the Blue Album . It’s a fine song with a terrific arrangement, but there would have been a number of songs more worthy of a spot on the ultimate “Best of” albums. Perhaps this would be an opportunity to redress this.

A George vocal and a rare b-side. The selections on both sets are odd when you start thinking about what’s on there, but if any two fans drew up their own lists of 56 tracks I don’t there would be complete agreement.
In the same article covering rumours regarding ‘Now And Then‘, ‘The Daily Beatle’ has written
Other factors may have been that releasing a new red and blue set now is a bit too soon, as record stores still have the 2014 reissues of the sets in stock.
It has been suggested that best of the remixes are going to be in the new film’s soundtrack and a possible 3 or 4 disc soundtrack set. There is no 2024 release date given or if it will go straight to Disney+ but spring 2024 has been mentioned.

RichardThe red/blue coloured vinyl slipcase edition has already sold out in the UK. Eek!
The press release mentions Dolby Atmos mixes of the Red and Blue albums. Obviously the vinyl is just the stereo, although mastered at half speed which I think is new to the Beatles.
There’s no mention of a Blu-ray edition, so I assume Dolby Atmos is only on streaming services.
Here are the details of the remixes (some are older than 2023). Note that some say things like “(2023 Mix) – from (2015 Mix)”, which I don’t understand. Also see the Blue Album tracklisting – it’s out of chronological order, and looks like all the additional tracks are on the final disc, beginning with Now And Then . That may be an error.

No, me neither…I know that Kyle K and many other folks are always happy for new packages to add to their collections and that’s cool, but I’ve got no need for the redundancy of owning Beatles compilation albums – including one with the cynical addition of a “new” “Beatles” track. I’d rather save my money and shelf space.
I’ve never owned neither red nor blue, but I certainly wanted to – I’d always see them in the racks, marveling at the time-jumping cover photos, back when I was a pre-teen and had little $; and then a few years later, I’d spin the Blue occasionally while baby-sitting for parents’ friends who owned it. But I never owned it myself; so, I wasn’t one of the (millions of?) fans for whom the red/blue were the very first Beatles albums they owned, and who will likely always have an indelible sentimental attachment to those collections, and to their particular song sequences across those eight vinyl sides. And, assuming that Joe’s posted tracklisting of the xpanded versions is accurate, then I suppose that’s a rationale for placing all the additional tracks on the 3rd discs of both sets, while leaving the rest in their original vinyl orders, rather than rearrange the whole package purely chronologically.
(…And they’re still gonna call it “1967-70” even though it’s got stuff from 1977 and 95, and even 2023, huh. They might’ve thought to tweak the title to “66-70 +”, or something, at least.)
Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.
