Great post, MMD!
(George’s vocal contribution to AHDN is in fact a Lennon-McC composition, just so you know )
Thank you, have an apple!
I know about I’m Happy Just To Dance With You , what I meant is since it doesn’t really fit him (sounds too much like a Lennon song, meaning a song that would be a better vocal fit for Lennon), George is even more underrepresented on the album and should have had another or an additional song.
Ringo isn’t even there singing his one number as he was off finding his tonsils.
Is that the real reason why there is no Ringo track on AHDN ?

Good to see you have the best album at the top.
Magical Mystery Tour wasn’t intended as an album but I love the songs on there, which places it up highly on my list.

1, Rubber Soul -I absolutely love every song on this album, my favorite ones on this are Think For Yourself and You Won’t See Me
2, Revolver -loved how some of the songs on here has a string or horn section, Paul really wrote some amazing songs for this one
3, Abbey Road -Any song on this album alone can be a hit single, there’s not a single thing that I dislike about this
4, Sgt Pepper ‘s-I like the Indian musical influence on this, especially on Getting better when the sitar hits
5, Help !-This could’ve been higher on this list, but it’s who’s idea to put Dizzy Miss Lizzy after yesterday, if they replace Dizzy Miss Lizzy with that means a lot or if you got troubles and place it before yesterday that would be a million times better
6, A Hard Day’s Night -No fillers, all Lennon/McCartney songs, just great
7, the Beatles-Any great song on this album can definitely be on my top 50 Beatles song list, but the less greater ones are awful, like Piggies and The Continuing Story Of Bungalow Bill , I’d replace Piggies with not guilty and I think Across The Universe would work on here
8, Technically not an album, but Magical Mystery Tour -I mean, ten out of the eleven songs have music videos
9, Please Please Me -Their first album has a totally different vibe, I Saw Her Standing There is such a strong opener
10, Beatles For Sale -Toooooo many covers, although you can here on here that their style of music starts to change
11, Let it be-Phil Spector ruined this, although I like his version of I Me Mine , this can go into top three if the naked version is released in 1970
12, With the beatles-It’s still great, just not good enough
13, Yellow submarine-Hey, if you want to make a movie soundtrack album, make it like the US version of A Hard Day’s Night and Help !, not like this, the remixed Yellow Submarine Songtrack is much better

Wow, in fifteen years I’ve never contributed a ranking here. But if I’d done a new one every year, I’d probably have 15 different rankings – even though certain albums will always be close to the top, or the bottom. (Or the middle.) So this ranking isn’t for all time – they’re just the albums that I’d most-to-least enjoy playing in full, now, today, an average day. (I really don’t need to hear any of them at the moment, in truth.)
And the list of albums is sort of extra-canonical:
1. Revlover
2. AHDN
4. Rubber Soul
4½. Live! At The Star-Club in Hamburg, Germany 1962
5. Past Masters I
6. The Beatles (White Album )
7. Past Masters II
8. Abbey Road
9. SPLHCB
11. Beatles For Sale
12. Help !
13. With The Beatles
14. Let It Be
15. “YS” soundtrack

Revolver always number one for me, but I enjoy the 15 albums you ranked there. I’m not gonna do a ranking right this moment, but with the addition of Anthologies or the BBC collections Id probably end up with them ahead of the YS songtrack or even MMT or WTB. Still can’t stand to see Let It Be in last. Thats a great album despite its imperfections and missed opportunities.
