The differences arent that major on MMT apart from some effects here and there. IATW has probably the biggest but nothing that makes me have a preference.

To be honest i cut the album up and rarely listen to it in track sequence, same with Yellow Submarine .

Sometimes I prefer listening to MMT in stereo but with my mix of I Am The Walrus and the Anthology version of Your Mother Should Know .

I don’t understand the question. Do you mean format as in vinyl/CD/mp3?

GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.

I take it that the format in this case means whether you would like to listen to the songs in mono or stereo

Personally I don’t really have a preference, and I don’t listen to that particular album too often. Why, it has I Am The Walrus , Fool on the hill and Blue Jay Way ( I like it) plus the singles, I don’t know. Perhaps the opening song kills it for me

I don’t have the mono albums, but my birthday is coming soon and i have no idea what I want as a present, so would you recomment the mono box set?

Just from my parents. It’s not so expensive, is it?

Wasn’t it around 100 euros?

Just make sure your parents get it from a reputable place, there are a ton of sites online that are flogging very difficult to identity fakes which are very poor in all areas; packaging, sound, feel, spelling mistakes. A lot of people have been fooled and left disappointed.

Stereo is my preference but i do listen to the mono version of this LP sometimes (I listen to The Beatles in mono all the way up to Sgt Pepper ).

I only listen to the UK EP, so it’s mono all the way!  ** Not true, I’ve got the mono & stereo versions of the EP and the CND LP on my iTunes! a-hard-days-night-paul-11

But by 1967, it’s Stereo all the way for me! a-hard-days-night-ringo-13

Stereo is the way to go, especially with this album.  You’re really able to pick up on all the hidden sounds.

I like the album (and all the other Beatles albums) better in Stereo because of the effect of different sounds that are picked up by the left or right ear (headphone users will get what I’m talking about). Especially songs like Strawberry Fields Forever , where there is a cool moving effect at one part of the song that makes the sound travel from right to left. Another example of this is during part of the same song, there is an odd sound that appears to get closer and closer the left ear before direct contact. It’s kinda hard to explain, and maybe I sound a bit mad, but it’s the best (*gasp* I forgot I’m not allowed to say that word) wording I could think of.

Reporter: Beethoven figures in one of your songs. What do you think of Beethoven?
Ringo Starr: He’s great. Especially his poetry.

Is the top one from the EP CD Box set or a vinyl rip?

I don’t do vinyl. I don’t do LPs or records either.

It’s the emperor’s new old clothes.

I refuse to debate it.

So to answer your question it’s the EP box. Great sound…. I like the album lineup better though not to mention it’s second side.

Lol okay to each their own!  I’ve thought about getting the EP box, is it worth it?

If you don’t mind the expense. As for the vinyl, I wouldn’t doubt that it will be rereleased soon.
