Both editions of Live At The BBC have become avaliable on Itunes for pre ordering. Going through the track list for the first edition, they seem to have two new speeches one on each side on the album. Anyone know why? Probably to get people to purchase the set?

And if you saw my love, I'll love her to.

“Well, What Is It George?” (disc one track 17, duration 31 seconds)  is titled “I Haven’t Got A Passport” on at least Unsurpassed Broadcasts and is in very good quality, the running time is the same length.

From Us To You (Closing Theme) (disc two track 36, duration 38 seconds) is included at the very end, after Love Me Do .

And for some strange reason “Have A Banana” (disc 2 track 3, duration 13 seconds) has been replaced by “Ringo? Yep!”

So if you are a collector you need both.

Looking at Volume 2 the I Feel Fine outtake’s duration is 3 minutes 28 seconds, far longer than on the bootlegs.

The Pop Profile interviews are shorter than the full length interviews available elsewhere but it might, hopefully, be down to editing out the theme music and none of the actually interviews as otherwise its back to the bootlegs.

If you going to give us something new why not be a full song instead of 44 seconds of chat and another excerpt of From Us To You? This is going to annoy a lot of people. Another example of Apple being incompetent, a right pain in the arse, and treating their fans as s**t.

And yes it will be so folks now have to get it if they want everything whereas if it had been the same as the ’94 release then they could let it go by. However i suppose you could say it’s the same as adding bonus tracks to remasters and thats what we all keep complaining about.

I find the switching of Have A Banana to be the most baffling, even if the quality of “Ringo? Yep!” wasnt good enough in ’94 so they left it off but now have a superior source, this is the first altering of an officially released Beatles album tracklisting with one track for another after release.

Sounds kind of lame – luckily I am not QUITE that obsessive (I come close) so I will be able to pass on the redone ‘Volume 1’.  I am looking forward to the new set, mostly for the intros and so on – slightly different versions of songs I already have are not really my thing, though I do like the energy of a lot of the stuff on the first set.

Wasn’t sure where to put this inquiry, so I just nosed round here.

A few months back, I found a YouTube audio of a recording from about 1964 which was an announcement of the “Top Gear” programme on the BBC. It started with Paul saying something along the lines of, “Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, this is a BBC radio announcer speaking in a very posh voice (and here other Beatles come in) because you gotta have a posh voice if you’re on the BBC!” and then other stuff happens. It appears to be only Paul, George and Ringo– no John. The video was deleted; I’ve searched, but I can’t come up with it anywhere. Help ?

(And mods, if you think of a better home for this post, by all means, move it.)

Its an outtake from when Paul, George and Ringo were recording a promo for the new radio series Top Gear in 1964 and has been booted a number of times. I have it if you want it.

Or go here.

The following people thank meanmistermustard for this post:

Thanks, @meanmistermustard. I just want to have another listen, write down all the words, and learn it off by heart. a-hard-days-night-george-9

The one I found had A Hard Day’s Night -esque cover and was called “Crinsk Dee Night”.

The bootleg album or the track was called ‘Crinsk Dee Night’ @Beatlebug? ‘Crinsk Dee Night’ also being the title of the speech at the beginning of disc two of ‘Live At The BBC .

<Billy Shears>

Yeah, it was probably a reference to that speech. Which was part of why I couldn’t find it, I think– I searched “Crinsk Dee Night” and came up with that^.

Anyway, thanks for the link! apple01
