That artwork is hideous, but part of me likes it.
No, actually none of me likes it.
Cant remember if it was posted anywhere but theatrical release is 27 August

I can handle delays but I’m not sure I could cope with having a ticket for a cinema screening and then not be able to go due to a covid spike?

End of October 2021 for the DVD release going by the Russian website GoldDisk reports The Daily Beatle. This would tie in with the book which is scheduled for publication on the 15th October.
Also, the proposed artwork for this is crap. At one point the Beatles were ground breaking with the artwork on their releases, now I want to bury them underground out of embarrassment.
Should have got Klaus to design it, give him one last cash boost!
Apple can pay a trainee graphic designer £35 for the cover, why pay more?
£35 for that seems a bit much, surely you could pay someone £10 on fiverr and you’d get an out of work professional to do a bang-up job for you.

Apple would like to appear generous to the worker whilst actually being incredibly cheap. Plus they’d have spent about 3 weeks with their lawyers inserting numerous legally binding confidentiality clauses into the contract so would think adding an extra tenner to the deal would be a great sweetener.
All they have to do is put out an extra piece of some crap overpriced merchandise to get their money back; luxury limited edition ‘Get Back ‘ Tippex, only £69.99 each.

I posted an appearance by Giles Martin on a podcast in another thread recently, @castironshore. In the course of the conversation, he mentions that his remix is of the Spector version of the album, and that one of Glyn Johns’ versions of the album has been remastered for possible (I’d say likely) inclusion.
I doubt we’ll hear much more before sometime toward the middle/end of July, assuming the release is timed to come out around about the film’s release date of 27 August.
(On another note, not sure why the DVD release of the film is being discussed in an album thread when the film has its own thread.)

” ‘Get Back ’ was intended to be the album after ‘The Beatles’ (The White Album ). Glyn Johns was brought in as producer. He completed various versions of the album with a variety of tracklistings which were all rejected by The Beatles. Johns’ left the project and Phil Spector was recruited to finish the job. Spector’s work was released as the ‘Let It Be ’ album and in 2003 Spector’s work was rejected and the album reissued as ‘Let It Be … Naked’ “
My first post so forgive me for posting a link to a ‘news’ article that includes a paragraph as ridiculous as that.
Will The Beatles’ Unreleased ‘Get Back’ Album Be Part of the Expanded ‘Let It Be’ Box? – Noise11.com
My reason for posting is that this forum has been quiet for a long time so I was thinking that maybe none of you had seen this….(I know unlikely, there are some well informed people here).
This is the first time I’ve seen a date or even confirmation for an expanded 50th for ‘Let it Be’. I hope it’s true, only 2 weeks to go!
I will be VERY disappointed if they waste a whole disc giving us the Glyn Johns’ version of the album. I don’t want to spend £100+ on a set that wastes a whole disc on an engineers’ mix that had no Beatles involvement above them telling him to ‘sod off’.

Welcome @Mean Mr Piggie, Giles Martin revealed on a podcast back in May that he had remixed Spector’s version of Let It Be , and that Glyn Johns’ Get Back version had been remastered for (possible) inclusion. The possible release date is new, but I somehow doubt it’s only two weeks away. On the Deluxes for Pepper, White Album , and Abbey Road , all were officially announced several weeks in advance, a month at the least, with at least two or three preview tracks appearing on social media between the announcement and release.
It would be surprising if they were not to follow a similar path this time around.
As to the inclusion of the Johns’ Get Back , most people here would be disappointed if at least one of his versions of the album wasn’t included, though I wouldn’t expect it to take up a whole disc (unless it was a “Glyn Johns’ Mixes” disc, as he did mix many more tracks than those included on his versions of a possible album).
I do think it wrong to dismiss him as an “engineer”, he had already produced several albums and would go on to become one of the most sought-after producers of the ’70s and ’80s. And it’s not like he was doing it behind their backs, they gave him the pile of tapes and told him to go make an album from them, which he had to play with as he went along as they argued over the film and it got another edit.
Had the film come out when originally expected, it’s likely the Spector version would never have happened.

Six discs in the set according to The Daily Beatle’s sources, Facebook/BeatleFan.
Beatlefan has learned that Apple Corps and Capitol/Universal are planning a 6-disc “Let It Be ” 50th anniversary box set, as rumored.
Two sources familiar with the plans say the set includes a new Giles Martin remix of the “Let It Be ” album; a couple of discs of rehearsals and jams from the January, 1969, Apple Studios sessions; the first Glyn Johns mix of the album from 1969; Johns’ 1970 mixes of “Across The Universe ” and “I Me Mine ” and new 2021 mixes of the original B-side version of “Don’t Let Me Down” and the 1970 single version of “Let It Be ”; and a disc featuring Dolby Atmos/ 5.1 DTS/Hi-Res Stereo mixes.
The complete rooftop concert, which is featured in Peter Jackson’s upcoming Disney+ docuseries, is not included in the box set, which has only one live rooftop track, the sources told Beatlefan. That may have been a result of restrictions imposed by Disney. Look for the official announcement of the box set coming soon. Release is expected to be in mid-October.
Isn’t the listed material five discs; 1. The remixes. 2 & 3. rehearsals etc. 4. Glyn Johns’ mixes. 5 Dolby+? So what is on the sixth, the new cut of the film? If so, where is the original film? As listed it’s the remixes of ‘ATU’ etc but that’s only four tracks. Do I need to buy another box to get the two films? I also don’t get why Disney would have any influence on the contents, tell them to piss off and go to Netflix, and nothing from Tickenham of which there is some great material – and why bother including one rooftop track?
I suppose the reason for the omission of ‘YKNM (LUTN)’ is that it wasn’t recorded during the January 1969 sessions or released on the ‘LIB ‘ album, even tho it was the b-side of ‘LIB ‘. Hopefully at some point there would be a catch all for such tracks as that and those which haven’t been remixed for the anniversary sets (‘TBOJAY’, ‘HB’, OANS’ were newly remixed even if some were included as alternate takes).

Based on the rumoured content, I was thinking about there only being one unreleased number from the rooftop concert, and it being suggested that it was at the behest of Disney+. It didn’t make sense to me that Apple would sign a contract with Disney that prevented them from releasing their recordings in an audio format. I then noticed that the two rehearsal and jams discs appear to be made up of Savile Row recordings, no Twickenham.
Then I had a crazy thought, and thought I’d throw it out there: Could the Let It Be deluxe be followed a short while later by a Get Back soundtrack?

In regards to the fourth disc, where currently there are only four tracks, one fans proposal is is’ LIBN’ remastered/remixed. I would hope not as the album is bullshit and the ‘Fly on the wall’ should be treated as it never existed.
The only way I can see it working is to have the original 1970 remastered film in this deluxe six-disc set as disc four so the fans get that and all other stuff. Then have another set called ‘Get Back ’ which has the new cut and the soundtrack. Might work if Apple aren’t that keen on the 1970 film being widely available.

I don’t see them releasing the original cut. I want to be content with 6 episodes of rehearsals, but I do worry that they will botch the audio release on favor of their premium video content.

I can totally see it happening, with two caveats; we don’t have the tracklisting for the LIB deluxe yet, and we don’t know what Peter Jackson has used for GB.
If it turns out there isn’t a lot of crossover, as only one new track from the rooftop would indicate, I can see a soundtrack coming out alongside the DVD/blu-ray release of GB (which I expect to include LIB as a bonus feature) with its selling points being the inclusion of Twickenham recordings and the full rooftop concert.
And when I said “a short while later,” I was thinking four or five months. Because of the lack of cinema release that was originally because it seems it just grew in length, Disney may keep it streaming longer than expected.
LIB deluxe 15 October. GB DVD/blu-ray alongside an audio soundtrack maybe April/May next year.
I can see a logic to it.
They have already said they’ll be releasing the original LIB film, @sir walter raleigh.

Surely they would want the release of the Disney series to help push sales for any related release, waiting six months would lose almost all of the impact from its screening as by then it’s sitting getting cold on a streaming site.
