The Beatles Christmas Release Box Set is scheduled to be released mid December. I am going to preorder it. I don’t have a single ‘real’ copy of any of them. Anyone else see this news or interested in ordering this box set?

Offline It’s a nice package and I am glad that these are finally being released but I wish there was a CD or Download version available. I’m hoping this might be available in the future.
And in the end the lunch you take is equal to the lunch you bake.

Offline I just read this bit of information regarding the 1970 compilation LP: “The master tapes having been mislaid, the LP was mastered from copies of the original flexi discs.”
Have they found the master tapes, or will the new release also be of inferior quality?

IN REGARDS TO THE MASTERING!
“We have pretty extensive archives so not all tape masters were lost! Or at least, we have original tapes even if there were contemporary safety copies. These are a mix of original tape and the contemporary disc dubs…They were all worked on with de-noising and lots of de-clicking (especially the disc dubs) and I really think that…they are by far the quietest and best versions anyone will have heard before.”

As a Beatles collector, you gotta have it. As a Beatles music lover, you “may” play this once, then it will sit and collect dust. Talk about digging into the bottom of the barrel from Apple…..

The material is what many fans have been dreaming of and questioning why it was never out before. It was a no-brainer.
Sadly, Apple has resorted to being close to incompetent and released it in the crappiest manner. No one is going to complain if they put out the box set along with CD, download and streaming options yet Apple have deemed that too hard to comprehend. I would buy the CD, there is no chance i’m buying the £60-70 box to have it gather dust.

On Another Beatles Christmas Record it says Paul treated the staff to dinner at a “steakhousel.”
And on Pantomime George Martin is referred to as “the produced.”
