How long would this be? What else should be included from the official Anthology releases? What should be omitted?
And should an album like this have been released to catch those people who simply wanted previously unreleased titles?

Online Release date pre-Anthology 2 so those who wanted Real Love and Free As A Bird could ignore the other albums. We do have the Anthology Highlights disc, i cant remember whats on it, but for this i would have included some alternate released tracks to tempt the buyer to get the other albums (eg Tomorrow Never Knows , And I Love Her , Whilst My Guitar Gently Weeps). And removed all the damn edits, why the hell was Shout edited down by 60 seconds and the ending of WMGGW looped?

Offline IMO Anthology was designed with the more ”harcore” fans in mind, so they wouldn’t want a kind of recap of it, but the whole lot. Plus, as mmm says, there was a highlights album which has a similar track listing for those who do just want some selected tracks.
Moving along in our God given ways, safety is sat by the fire/Sanctuary from these feverish smiles, left with a mark on the door.

Is there an actual, physical Anthology Highlights disc available for purchase?
I thought it was a digital-only release made available on iTunes in 2011 alongside the three Anthology doubles.
I know there were some physical copies available at the time, but I thought that was only in very limited numbers.

Offline I have a copy of the promotional sampler for Anthology 2 . It has 10 tracks and has very nice packaging with a full-colour booklet.

Offline I’ve long been lobbying for an Extended Versions release, so to speak, i.e. an album featuring the full-length recordings of songs that were ultimately pared down for official release: “12-Bar Original,” “It’s All Too Much ,” “Flying ” (the original version with the ‘Dixieland’ coda as well), “Sexy Sadie ,” Take 2 of “Helter Skelter ” (maybe even the infamous 27-minute Take 3 as well), “Not Guilty ,” “Dig It ,” and “You Know My Name (Look Up the Number).” I’d love to see “Now And Then ” finally get an official release, too (and “All for Love,” if the song really does exist). “Carnival Of Light ” would also be nice, but I’m not gonna hold my breath for that one.

Online Anthology Highlights is only readily available as a download from iTunes (pirate copies will exist somewhere however).
Maybe the secret project is a 2014 remastered, readjusted Anthology release with all the overlapped tracks on Volume 1 spaced out and a couple of the interview tracks changed and the edited tracks unedited. Surely there will be a re-released Anthology available in the shops at some point in shiny digipacks, maybe if we ever get the series on Blue-Ray.

Offline Could you imagine if they re-released Anthology in deluxe editions, making them 4-discs a pop and expanding them to include loads more of the “best” takes, demos and whatnot…?

Would be nice if when they release the Blue-Rays they gave us more extras like unreleased interviews, not sure i want to see more of the Threetles jamming tho.
Maybe we all need to start sending positive thoughts to Apple instead. Isn’t it thought that if you say nice things about people it can affect their behaviour?
