I read something recently suggesting that “I’ll Be Back ” was at least partially written at the time and would have been the 14th track had Ringo’s tonsils not interfered.Unfortunately I’m traveling yet again this week without any books so will have to wait to find the reference – which may be speculative in any case but…well it’s something anyway.
‘I’ll Be Back ‘ is the 13th actual song, it’s the album closer.

Argh, I meant to say “Baby’s In Black “. Black / Back…getting old…sands of time…memory as bad as eyesight now.
But I will have to check back on it next week. I could be thinking of the wrong song as well.

I didn’t have anything too elaborate in mind but I was thinking it could have the music of one song with the lyrics to the other like something off of the Love album or most mash-ups in general.

Offline While i don’t believe there were any plans for a 14th track, nor do i think there needs to be one (I’ll Be Back closes the album very nicely), i do think it would’ve been interesting to close off the album with one of the German songs as a novelty. Colombia actually did this, closing their album with Komm Gib Mir Deine Hand , although they also removed Can’t Buy Me Love and You Can’t Do That , making The Beatles Vol. 4 a 12 track album. However, i think Sie Liebt Dich would be more appropriate as She Loves You is featured in the film.
