…for this? I was sure I had done this before... oh whale.

1. Help

While @Dark Overlord is true, this is my favourite Beatles’ movie. They were high, and wanted to go on vacation, but for some reason I really enjoy it. Honestly, I think everything they do is enjoyable. Ya know that video of Paul making mashed potatoes? Yeah. Anyroad, I think it’s really funny.

2. A Hard Days Night

This movie is beautiful. So maybe quotable

…s no real plot, it's just The Beatles driving around in a bus while occasionally stopping and either doing a random thing or having a shitty music video for a 2nd rate Beatles song. And the ending is so bad, it's one of those rare occasions where the guy who spoils the ending is the hero.

5. Help…

…contractual obligation and as an excuse for The Beatles to go on a vacation. Also, The Beatles were high the whole time, which shows you how little they cared. This is the sort of rubbish that comes out when someone's forced to make a movie.

Expert Textpert and I watched this video yesterday. One of the cheeky little things I caught was Paul changing some words in Flaming Pie
.

The original lyrics

Tuck my shirt in and zip…

…my fly

In the video he says

Untick my shirt and unzip my fly

Check out that part starting at 6:02 in this video (maybe it will start playing at that point if I copied the url correctly)

… just over 50 years after it been recorded.

There is a question in the comments "I wonder if the people who got to sing along ever knew how lucky they were to be making history that day in 1968, 50 years ago.." - does anyone have any information about the people in it and what happened to them?

From Paul's website:

…. Something
else off the bucket list. The copy I was able to find had fitful audio/video sync issues, but it was otherwise satisfactory.

They're not at each other's throats nearly as much as the film's reputation would lead someone to believe, and the gloom and negativity of the experience…

… There's only a little bit of bickering on camera.

A lot of the playing and singing is ragged, but then, these are rehearsals, sometimes of songs they're doing for the first time or very early in the process. I'd imagine anyone seeking this out knows how all the songs turned out in their final form…

…very good in those days. Whether you loved or hated "Maxwell's Silver Hammer
" or "Two of Us" or "I've Got A Feeling
" (all worked on here), they always sounded spiffy when he got them just so. And, bless him, he obviously still cared. He doesn't do one thing in all 80 minutes that suggests…

… but I don't care for the fly-on-the-wall style, as opposed to something more disciplined and organized. There is a narrative of sorts here: they rehearse, they rehearse some more, and then they play on the roof. But nearly the whole first hour is disjointed and meandering. You can only tell

We took our son and three of his twenty-something friends and I think they had a great time. The crowd sang along at the end when "All Together Now

I totally enjoyed the family with 2 little boys sitting to my right. They got excited and sang along, giggled, and gave commentary throughout. The next generation of Beatles fans.

…that way.

Apple, that is Yoko, Paul, George (now Olivia) and Ringo block the release of the film on DVD and via streaming, and why shouldn't they when they consider Anthology the superior product?

I have much love for it, was behind my school film club showing it in 1983, but always knew it…

…I'm laughing as I type this reply.  You only make my argument stronger without realizing it.  Yes, perhaps Apple could have stopped it.  But...THEY DIDN'T!!!  It was a good product and had George Martin's cooperation.  All concerned knew this.  Apple or the Beatles themselves could've sued…
