The release
Love was released worldwide on 20 November 2006, five months after the Cirque du Soleil show opened in Las Vegas. It was the first new Beatles release since Anthology 3 in 1996.The album was issued on three formats: a single compact disc; CD and DVD-Audio with 5.1-channel surround sound mix and two-channel stereo; and two-disc vinyl edition.
The DVD-Audio version contains longer versions of ‘Revolution’ and ‘Back In The USSR’, which increased the total running time from 78:38 to 80:28.
Love topped the album charts in Belgium, Canada and France. It was also a top ten hit in Australia, Austria, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and United States.
In the UK it charted at number three, behind releases by Westlife and Oasis. In the United States it peaked at number four on the Billboard 200, and was certified platinum before the end of 2006.
iTunes releases
On 8 February 2011 the Love album went on sale on Apple Inc’s iTunes Store. The downloads contained the longer versions of ‘Revolution’ and ‘Back In The USSR’ previously heard on the DVD-Audio edition.
Two bonus tracks were also made available on iTunes: ‘The Fool On The Hill’ and ‘Girl’, extending the total running time to 86:41.
A new app, titled The Beatles LOVE, was also made available on iTunes, and gave information about the Love album, contained clips from the Cirque du Soleil show, and had news and ticket details.
The Beatles” “LOVE” album makes its digital release debut exclusively on the iTunes Store . “All Together Now,” the feature-length documentary about the making of The Beatles LOVE by Cirque du Soleil, is released February 15th. Today also marks the release of the first official Beatles App – The Beatles LOVE.“LOVE” is available as an iTunes LP or as individual songs, including the “LOVE” versions of “The Fool On The Hill” and “Girl,” both exclusive, previously unreleased mixes from the acclaimed stage production. “All Together Now” is presented as an iTunes Extra, including the 84-minute film and bonus features.

The GRAMMY -winning “All Together Now” documentary, directed by Adrian Wills, and its bonus features detail the fascinating story behind the unique partnership between The Beatles and Cirque du Soleil that resulted in the creation and launch of “LOVE.”
All Together Now
A feature-length documentary about the making of the album and stage show was released in 2008.
All Together Now chronicles the creation of the collaboration between The Beatles and Cirque du Soleil. It is dedicated to Apple Corps’ former Neil Aspinall, who died in 2008.
The film contains contributions from Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Yoko Ono, Olivia Harrison, and Love director Adrian Wills, and details the creation and development of the collaboration through to its opening on 30 June 2006.
All Together Now was released on DVD on 20 October 2008, and on the iTunes Store on 15 February 2011.
In 20089 the DVD won a Grammy Award for Best Long Form Music Video, for director Adrian Wills and producers Martin Bolduc and Jonathan Clyde.
I am stunned. I had this CD for years and had actually never played it before. Just fantastically done. Musically. Borrowing from one, mixing to another. A totally cosmic experience.
