Sir Paul McCartney’s On The Run tour continued its South American leg with a concert at the Estadio Defensores del Chaco in Asunción, Paraguay seen by 30,000 people.
Although the setlist largely stays the same from concert to concert, there were some minor changes, the most notable being the insertion of ‘Venus And Mars’ and ‘Rock Show’ before ‘Jet’.
McCartney was forced to turn down an offer of a presidential tour of Paraguay’s governmental palace in Asunción due to a tight schedule during his stay.
President Fernando Lugo invited McCartney to “to visit the palace of government and take a tour of historic places in the city, but he did not accept”. He told reporters he did not hold it against the musician.
McCartney’s band was Paul ‘Wix’ Wickens (vocals, keyboards, guitar, percussion, harmonica), Brian Ray (vocals, guitar, bass), Rusty Anderson (vocals, guitar) and Abe Laboriel Jr (vocals, drums).
