Billy Joel was a surprise guest at the second of Sir Paul McCartney’s two consecutive nights at the Yankee Stadium in New York City.
Joel played piano during the version of The Beatles’ ‘I Saw Her Standing There’ in the first encore section. He had previously guested at McCartney’s opening show at New York’s Citi Field stadium, and McCartney had played at Joel’s show at the final Shea Stadium concert.
McCartney’s band was Paul ‘Wix’ Wickens (vocals, keyboards, guitar, percussion, harmonica), Brian Ray (vocals, guitar, bass), Rusty Anderson (vocals, guitar) and Abe Laboriel Jr (vocals, drums).
