It was the 12th show by the eighth All-Starr Band. Their tour of North America lasted for 35 dates between July and September 2003.
Starr had previously performed at the DTE Energy Music Theatre, also known as the Pine Knob Music Theatre, on 30 July 1989, 15 June 1992, 10 July 1995, 30 May 1997, and 11 June 2000. He returned there on 16 June 2006 and 27 June 2014.
