Ringo Starr and his All-Starr Band live: Greek Theatre, Los Angeles

Ringo Starr and his All-Starr Band performed at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, California, USA, on 3 September 1989.

It was the 29th show by the first All-Starr Band, and the first of two consecutive nights at the Greek Theatre. The North American tour lasted for 30 dates between July and September 1989, followed by a seven-date Japanese tour in October and November.

Starr returned to the Greek Theatre on 11 and 12 August 1992, 18 and 19 August 1995, 2 August 2008, 7 August 2010, 21 July 2012, 19 July 2014, 2 July 2016, 29 September 2018, 1 September 2019, 15 June 2023, and 8 September 2024.

The first All-Starr Band

  • Ringo Starr: vocals, drums, percussion, piano
  • Joe Walsh: vocals, guitar, piano, maracas
  • Nils Lofgren: vocals, guitar, accordion
  • Rick Danko: vocals, bass guitar, guitar
  • Dr John: vocals, piano, bass guitar
  • Billy Preston: vocals, keyboards, melodica, cowbell
  • Clarence Clemons: vocals, saxophone, tambourine, cowbell
  • Levon Helm: vocals, drums, mandolin, harmonica
  • Jim Keltner: drums

Garth Hudson of The Band also performed accordion on ‘Iko Iko’, ‘The Weight’, ‘The Shape I’m In’, and ‘Raining In My Heart’ during this show, and Ringo’s son Zak Starkey performed drums during the songs where his father was not behind the kit.
