Wednesday 24 June 1970 was the 16th recording session for George Harrison’s third solo album All Things Must Pass.
Four songs were worked on during this session: ‘Hear Me Lord’, ‘Let It Down’, ‘Om Hare Om (Gopala Krishna)’, and ‘Run Of The Mill’.
Three takes of ‘Hear Me Lord’ had been recorded the previous day. Five more, numbered 4-8, were taped during this session, although the first of those was incomplete. Take 8 was marked best and became the basis of the album version.
‘Let It Down’ was new to the album sessions. Eight takes were recorded, of which takes 1, 3, and 8 were complete. The last of those was marked as best.
‘Om Hare Om (Gopala Krishna)’ had been demoed by Harrison on 26 May. A full band version was recorded in three takes, the second of which was incomplete. The song was taken no further.
The session concluded with two takes of ‘Run Of The Mill’, which had first been tackled on 29 May. Neither of this day’s attempts were complete, and the song was reworked on 30 June and 1 July.
